I called to make a payment on a credit card thurs evening 11/18/21. when you call after hrs it says any payments maid will be deducted the following business day. I made my payment, knowing my check from work is in my account every Friday morning at 3am when I check. this payment that would be taken out on Friday because I paid after hrs on Thurs, showed as pending and still showed pending Friday at 3pm. my check showed pending on thuraday morning. after checking my account Friday morning, I had an overdraft fee of $29. I called to see why and was told because of the pending charge that is still pending Friday. I explained my confusion as if you take a pending charge out if my account, why doesn't a pending check go into my account? so here we have a $1,500 pending check in my account, that doesn't matter and a $699 pending payment going out the following business day, that was taken out of my account by the bank and put aside, pverdrsfting my account by $22, and charging me a $29 overdraft fee, even thought that $699 payment has still not been made or taken out by the credit card company on Friday when my pending check has cleared my account! so my money that the bank decided to "put aside" for this payment, all the while seeing my pending paycheck, was unavailable to me and there's nothing they would do about it other than say dont make a payment until you have the money. I knew 100% for sure what my check was going to be and that it's always there before 3am on friday, and I know when I made that payment after hrs, that it wouldn't be deducted until until following business day (Friday). 16 years I have been with this bank and this is the kind of great service they provide! if it was something I paid for and didnt/wouldn't have the money, I would understand, but when it's a pending charge, that charge doesn't hit my account until that company takes it out, just like my check doesn't hit my account until the bank accepts the pending deposit!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/01) */ Mr. ******** opened an account with OMNI Community Credit Union on 06/07/2004. On 11/18/2021 there was one (1) overdraft fee assessed to the account. All Overdraft fees were assessed in compliance with out OMNI MEMBERSHIP/ACCOUNT AGREEMENT. OMNI Community Credit Union assess Overdraft fees based on a members' available balance. According to the OMNI MEMBERSHIP/ACCOUNT AGREEMENT, "Your available balance is the amount of money in your account that is available for you to use without incurring a fee. As we are unable to attached documents in this response, please contact the credit union for a copy of the OMNI MEMBERSHIP/ACCOUNT AGREEMENT for review if desired. This can be provided at any branch location and/or can be mailed upon request. On 11/19/2021, Mr. ******** called into the credit union and spoke with a representative who explained why the Overdraft fee was assessed. There was no request during that phone call to refund the assessed fee. On 11/22/2021, as a courtesy, the credit union refunded the Overdraft fee of $29.
