This vehicle has had service work completed and claims paid out under the service contract already. The vehicle is currently in the shop at Brighton and another claim has been submitted for the new issues. A service contract on a 16 year old high mileage Sebring will not cover the vehicle as if it was brand new, but several items have been covered and repaired. No one has refused to repair the vehicle, but repairs will not be done for free. Once the current claim is approved, the approved work will be completed under the terms of the service contract.

Two years ago I bought a 2015 ***** Sonic LTZ from this SCAM business with $1,500 down I believe. The next day it immediately needed to be repaired as the engine was smoking due to an oil leak. They ALLEGEDLY put $6,000 worth of repairs into the car which did NOT fix the problem. I had to immediately have $3,500 worth of warranty work done to the car. They gave me a rental car with a *** tire which blew out on a bridge in *******. This company simply does not care and should have been shut down years ago. To this day the oil leak is STILL NOT repaired. I want this company to repair this car once and for all. This is now how you treat customers! You should not sell cars to people THAT DONT WORK! And judging by the complaints on here it seems Im not the only one youve done this to. 1. Stop selling junk cars!2. Fix my car. This is your companys fault for selling me a broken down car. I want this **** car fixed once and for all!

I am unable to locate a vehicle purchased under that name from our dealership, but based on the vehicle and the situation noted, I believe this was the unit purchased by a family member that apparently he is driving. This Sonic was purchased for $6400 over 3 years ago (3/3/2021) and at that time there was an issue that required a complete engine replacement at a cost of almost $6000. The dealership absorbed this entire cost and provided, not one but two different loaner vehicles while the repairs were being completed. The dealership has no further interest nor responsibility for a now 10 year old vehicle with over ******* miles that the customer now in April of 2024, after 3+ years of ownership, driving and maintenance decides to open a complaint to request money or repairs.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your rejection of the business's response.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

[You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution. Please type details here:]
Your alleged $6,000 complete engine replacement fixed absolutely nothing on this car. I had to take this car back in somewhere else after that immediately because it fixed absolutely nothing. Had $3,500 worth of work done on it the week after. Not to mention you guys completely ignored us after your work was done on it. You gave up on this car. I believe I am well with min my right to complain about this.
      Regards,

On May 19, 2023 I went to Brighton Motors and worked with ************************* and ********************* to purchase a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I entered into a financing option with them and ************** Services and gave them a deposit of $2500. Per the auto sales contract I was promised a functioning and in good repair vehicle. Upon signing the auto sales contract Brighton Motors kept possession of the vehicle in order to make the necessary repairs to it as required. I kept checking in with ****** and told that they were working on it but it wasnt done yet. Then a week and a half later ****** called me to tell me that my car was done and I could come pick it up. I took my sister, and when I picked the car up it still had numerous problems, only the seat and A/C had been fixed. The engine was still ticking and per the contract it was supposed to be void if the engine was not fixed. ****** said they fixed it but it was still making the noise slightly because it is an older vehicle. I drove the vehicle home and noticed that it was leaking fluid. I called ****** and **** back and told them all the problems the vehicle was still having, this time I made sure to have the calls witnessed since they had already proven themselves untrustworthy. ****** reached out to let me know that her and her manager were aware of the ticking sound and were going to have the repairs done immediately they told me to bring the Jeep back in and gave me a rental to drive while the Jeep was being repaired. Come to find out they had it sent out to Wixom for repairs at a third party repair shop. About 5 days later ****** called me in a rush and told me I had to get out to Wixom that day immediately to pick up the Jeep and drop off the rental. After I drove the Jeep home I noticed it was still leaking something, thinking it was condensation from the A/C I waited a few more times but then noticed it was definitely a fluid that was still leaking from the vehicle. So once again, the vehicle was still not repaired as promised! I have sent several emails requesting the service documents for the maintenance work that was performed on my vehicle while in their possession for the week and a half after I signed the paper and have not received, heard or been told anything. They had my vehicle in their possession twice and I have received no documents showing any service records. The auto sales contract that I signed has not been fulfilled as promised on their end and therefor should be VOIDED as it is stated in their writing by their finance manager. They have made no attempts to repair, replace or refund any portion of my deposit, return my inquiries, or make this right.

We agree that the vehicle in question, a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was purchased on May 19th of this year. The auto sales contract never listed anything about promising a functioning vehicle, as that is not the purpose of the ***** however an internal document did note that there were items listed that would be addressed as Mr. **** states. The request notes to inspect and repair as needed (1) A/C, (2) a leak, (3) thermostat, (4) drivers seat and (5) a knock. As to the exact timing and dates mentioned, I cannot concur, but the timeframe is an estimate. The initial repairs that were able to be performed at our Brighton location were completed on 5/26/2023, these repairs included rectifying concerns (1) the A/C being operational per factory standards, (2) a leak diagnosed as power steering lines, which were replaced and confirmed, (3) the thermostat being replaced and confirmed and (4) the power drivers seat motor was replaced and confirmed. At the conclusion of the on site repairs 4 of the 5 listed concerns were properly repaired. In order to correct the last issue (5), the vehicle needed to be sent out to another shop for completion. A no cost loaner was provided, the shop completed its diagnosis that the intake camshaft. exhaust camshaft, rocker arm and gasket would need to be replaced. We authorized the work, all was completed on 6/6/2023 and confirmed. The vehicle was released back to the customer with (1) A/C functioning, (2) no leaks from the area of concern, (3) new thermostat, (4) functioning driver seat and (5) engine component replacement required to eliminate the noise noted. In addition to these repairs, another post repair multi point inspection was performed to ensure no further concerns were present. After $3500 worth of work done to complete the items noted at delivery, all items were addressed. If any new concerns have developed, the customer has in effect a vehicle service contract and can have those concerns addressed by a shop of his choosing. When purchasing a 2012 Jeep with over ******* miles, one should not expect the vehicle will never be new, but this particular vehicle was brought up to solid standards, based on the age and mileage. The dealership met its obligation.
