      In May of 2022, a representative of C. ******************** Construction prepared a proposal to repair mortar and bricks and to install glass block windows for a total of $2,855, and received a down payment of $1,800. That check cleared on May 24. I did not hear from Mr. ******************** for a couple of months, so I called him. He claimed weather issues and other work kept him from doing our work. I called a few more times and received the same response. In September he did some work next door and said he would come to our house the next day, but my wife was sick, so I asked that he postpone for a day or two. He did not call to see if my wife had improved. I called him a few more times, but he was not available to do the work. He has not contacted me. I asked for a refund, and he promised a number of times, and specifically said that he would pay at least some by the end of January. I have not heard from him, nor have I received any payment.

      On 5/19/2022 I signed a contract buying a steel door with 2 sidelites. ******* (the salesman ?) said it would be **** weeks before the door would come in. I also wrote a check for $2000.00. The total cost was $2850.00. The check was cashed on 5/24/2022 by the owner. I called the owner after 8 weeks. The door wasnt in. I waited 2 more weeks and called again. It wasnt in. Finally a week or two later I called. He said the door was in but it had to be brought down from up north (?) down to a warehouse. I kept calling to see when the door was going to be put in. Every time I called he would tell me he was finishing up or wrapping up another job. I had another contractor doing some work on *******, and I was talking to him about the time frame. The contractor told me it shouldnt take that long. He offered to pick up the door and put it in. I talked to the owner (*******************************). I asked the owner where the doors location was. He told me it was at **************************. I called ***** and talked to the manager. He told me there was no door.. I called the owner and he told me I didnt know what I was talking about. I made a trip to ****************************. I talked to a Supervisor and she also told me that there was no door. I called the owner and he said it was bull s*** and he had too much work to do. I dont even know if there is a door or not. I asked him to release the door or refund my $2000.00 back. He said he wouldnt release the door and he couldnt refund the money until the door is returned. All I get are excuses.

      *************************** from BBB spoke with ******************************* of C ******************** Construction regarding the Cook complaint.  ***** offered to either provide a full refund of the amount paid of $2,000 or to install the door at no additional cost to the consumer.  Mr. ******************** stated that either option will be completed by February 15, 2023.

      I set up an agreement with C. Morris Construction that I would buy the 13 windows separately ($3,896.52) and pay ***** and his crew ($3,350.00) for the labor for installation. I paid Morris on August 3rd, 2021 for the initial 13 windows, then submitted via text an IOC ($500 August 9th, 2021) about painting some wood windows with flex seal that I provided and installing a 14th window that I purchased. Morris Construction began work to install the windows prior to a workshop that was hosted at my address on August 21st. The windows were not fully installed until January 21st, 2022 where they were placed, trimmed and caulked from the inside. There were 14 windows total that were requested to install. 12 of the windows on the outside had aluminum clad flashing installed on them, however they were not fully sealed on the outside, caulked or secured in a good way and the last 2 windows only have wood structure on the outside of the house with no aluminum clad framing. I have contacted him via phone text message 16 times and spoken to him on the phone 5 times since January with requests for them to come and complete the job, and he has yet to come on the job site and fix the remaining issues. I want him to show up, finish caulking and sealing all of the external windows and securing them appropriately and then we can end our business relationship. This is a job that should have taken one month, not one year and one month. Prior to this situation, C. Morris and I were friends on ********* chatted often and had mutual things in common. I helped him with several BMV meeting schedules and went to go and visit him at a ****** armament. He unfriend me on ******** in December 2021, and since this point has become increasingly difficult to reach and communicate with. This is very frustrating because from the get go, I have honored everything with him and treated him like a neighbor.

      He never finished the job. I still have outlets hanging out of my walls. Wires attached to nothing becuse he never put the lights in. The kick plates r still miss my cupboard down below is still miss dishwasher is still not secured in. And the stove hood is still not attached or finished.

      Chuck was contracted to do work at our house. Refurbish/ build a deck at our house. Along with some other items that came to $25,850.00 We paid Morris Construction half the money $12,925.00 down and they started work but have no came back. Called companies local to see if they ordered the wood they have not. We just want the contracted items finish and or return the money if he can't fulfill the job. He had a great recommendation so I'm guessing he just doesn't have time. Either way he won't answer the phone when I call unless I call from a random number. Always has a reason he can't come out. I just want the job done or the money back.

Was keeping in touch weather set me back on other jobs have to finish one before move to next. Try to work calling every 20min all day told him get to job soon as finish what doing. He said been ripped off before was nervous. Trying to check local people to see if ordered lol kinda dumb. They can't legally tell him my business anyway. Just nervous customer. Finished job on. Doing his deck Wednesday till finished. Also changed almost everything bid on but I'll work the this. All good
