Spoke with a supervisor today named ****** who not only flat out lied to me, and kept waiting for me to respond then would loudly talk over me over and over even though I kept asking him to let me speak and to not talk over me, until I finally snapped and he told me I was being combative. I continually have problems using my card because they claim to be trying to protect me yet they keep letting several companies I didnt even know take money off my account and they finally did stop them but now I cant use my own card almost anywhere and I never got any of my stolen money back. Im going to speak to attorneys this week because I dont know what to do at this point. I had to starve while recovering from brain surgery because there was no way to order groceries and they wouldnt fix their mistake. The CEOs should be in prison and they should lose their government contract. This is absolutely ridiculous.Review from Sabra W.

Direct Express changed service providers for 2023. They sent me a new card; but did not inform me of the changes, or of the fact that the rules and services have changed. This has caused a lot of time-wasting, pointless confusion. For some inexplicable reason they are refusing to allow me to make a transfer to my own bank account, which I was able to do within minutes with the previous card, and which I HAVE to do in order to pay my rent. Now my rent for March and ***** are not paid, and my landlord, needless to say, is very unhappy. I have called Direct Express repeatedly, been on hold over and over again, using up hours, for what should be simple to clear up. I've followed all their instructions and been told that everything should be working now. But each time I make a transfer, I have to wait for 5 business days and then discover that my transfer was reversed. Tonight this happened again, and when I called them, I had to go through the rigmarole of providing my account # and other identification repeatedly; only to eventually get to a recording saying they are too busy to take my call, please try another time. This process alone takes about 1/2 hour. I tried 3 times tonight because this is very urgent for me. Each time, with the same exasperating result. To say I am fed up is putting it mildly. I guess I have to stop using Direct Express.Review from Raven L

Worst "customer service" I have EVER tried to deal with. They locked my card for some unknown reason. There have been no suspicious or fraudulent charges to my account for them to suddenly do that. And when I call, I just repeatedly get a message saying that they are experiencing a high call volume and I need to call back later, then they hang up. I have called for 4 days!! All hours of the day and night. 6am, midnight, 7pm, on and on. Still no answer. I was very shocked to get on this site and see that they are not BBB accredited when they are partners of our US **** of ********** Are you kidding me!? ?? Speaks volumes of our government! Worst decision I could have made and I will be changing my direct deposit info ASAP!Review from Brandy W

I honestly can't believe after everything I have read and what I'm currently going through our government is still using this bank and they have not been held accountable. My card was locked for fraud at a gas station across the street from my house, I used my pin for my purchase and it's a real B.S. line they r feeding people. I was able to speak to someone and he didn't do his job currently so I wasted 2 hrs waiting for my account to be unlocked, I had to call back wait another hour the lady I spoke to super nice ******* in ***** I think promised she fixed it waited another 2 hrs and again nothing! I've been calling that number for over 24 hrs and it say they r busy and hangs up. They have a number for complaints that number also says they r busy and hangs up! I explained the importance, and my son's and I have barely eaten sense Thursday but by the looks of these other complaints I guess we are *****Review from Gregory S

Do NOT use, had my account completely wiped out 2 months in a row by fraudulent charges paid to ****** pay/play and ****** gamania. While they know ?? this was fraud , they will NOT refund my money, was further shocked to my core yesterday when the representative stated, " we deal with this all the time with ******". If that's the case why wouldn't you ban all payments to ******, to protect your customers?Review from Michael E

I've been trying to put a down payment on my truck for 5 days! They keep blocking even small payment. Each time I call it is a 2 1/2hr hold to get anyone on the line. Can't wire the money to my main account without sending them a copy of my bank statement. Uh, no *** I finally got to a supervisors supervisor. The people who approve or turn down stuff. they looked into my account and literally told me they had no idea why it was blocking payment. ***************, USELESS card. Needless to say I canceled any future deposits with them. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! They currently have $16,000 of mine I can't get access to.Review from Sara W

They let hackers into my acct and then deny my fraud claim saying all charges were authorized, authorized by who the scam debit card . They said they would send the information from the investigation, never did . What I want to know is if it's FDIC insured why can't I get back the thousands stolen from me.Review from Christine K

I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. No matter how many times I call and request they take my number off I get no where. Will not stop calling every 2 weeks to let me know that the debt card is low on funds and texting about pin number changes. I call the customer service number, wait on hold for 30 minutes, just to be told I was sent to the wrong department and immediately hung up on. I've called multiple times in the past 2 years just to have a similar experience. I block their number, just to be left voicemails and texts.Review from DT D

If I could give negative stars I would! Our dear friend has had his Direct Express card and account frozen for over a week now and is unable to access his SS Benefits. He is pending a VERY late rent payment and is unable to pay his utilities. We have been trying to resolve this with Direct Express by sending the information they keep requesting but they keep denying it and saying it will take longer and longer to access the card. We have done EVERYTHING they've asked. This is absolute fraud! Why is the *** doing business with these people???
