*** Ashton/Ashton Restoration DBA **** Davis of Southfield is absolutely the worst water restoration company. If your insurance provider connects you with this company, request an alternative. *** is an alcoholic and a pathological liar. He shows up drunk to jobs consistently. The simplest bathroom remodel took this company over 6 months to complete. *** consistently blamed it on the fact that there weren't any shower doors available and that the one that was needed was on back order for 6 weeks. 6 weeks later....? No door. *** claimed that the incorrect Door was sent to him and that it was going to be another 6 weeks until the correct door would be shipped. 6 weeks later....? Yay! We got a door..... oops just kidding. *** sent an employee to install the door. Turns out it was the wrong door again, only this time it was a cheap door from HD or ****** that is always in stock. The employee noticed during installation but the damage was already done because holes were already drilled into the tiles. Now the tiles had to be replaced and still no door. the door was just one of the many problems. The ***** tiles that were chosen for the shower floor had to be installed, torn up, and re-installed 3 different times. *** blamed it on the fact that the tiles were cheaply made so a different tile needed to be used. *** insisted that he would be the one to install the tile the final time, and low and behold..... he did it! Turns out, *** really doesn't know what he is doing. The shower floor has waves and is completely un-even to the point where water puddles up in the corners instead of going down the drain. If you have made it this far and you still don't have enough info to run from this company, here's more.... the large format tiles that were used for the bathroom floor- 3 of them cracked because of poor installation. The threshold/step into the shower also had to be installed 3 different times because of poor craftsmanship. the caulk around the bathroom vanity looked like a 6 year old did it. other than a handful of times during this 6+ month ordeal, *** was never at the job site. He would schedule appointments saying he would be there, but instead of showing up, he would send one of his employees. When questioned about the whereabouts of ***, the employee had not a clue that *** was supposed to be there. this Happened on at least 3 or 4 occasions. ***** excuse was always that he got stuck at another job that had a HUGE issue that needed his immediate attention. The employee said otherwise. That *** was at home in bed because he was too hung over to make it. his wife was having an affair with one of ***** employees during his employment. This business is full of narcissism and pathological lies. Don't let this company come anywhere near your home unless you are ready for the ride of your life.
