In July ********************************************* my home for A/C purposes only. In January 2022 I had to call the company out as the air return that was installed in my living room was dripping water and there was condensation in the duct work. They sent out ******* who told me I should not run my A/C in the winter, I showed ******* that I had turned the A/C thermostat off and I was smart enough to know this. They sent out ***** who determined that it was not my fault but that the unit was running, I never really received a reason why, instead we shut the A/C and Air handler circuit breakers to off, and ***** replaced the flexible duct work that was saturated with condensation. I was told that the attic was cold and I should look into insulating my attic, which I did.Fast forward to January ****, I called the company as I could hear ice crystals in the air return that they placed in the living room. ***** once again came out on Thursday February 1, **** and investigated the situation. He once again informed me that the condenser was cold and causing this issue and I should look into closing off attic vents and more insulation.He gave me two options, both would cost me, they could move the air return and I would be responsible to have the holes in my ceiling repaired or they could try to insulate a part they installed again with a cost to **** called a few Heating and cooling companies and was told that the placement of air return installed in my living room was not placed in the proper place as it is directly above 20 ft of base board heat, see picture attached and the heat rising is causing the condensation in this vent.I called the company today to find out what the owners plan on during to fix the issue that they caused, and I have not heard back, although I was told someone would get back to me.Also, If I were to close the vents in the attic, it would void my house insurance policy as they are needed for a purpose.
