I hired WaterWork Plumbing to complete a plumbing inspection of a home I was considering to purchase and was told by the service repair person on site that I'd receive a file of the video of said inspection noting that the device used to collect the video had an external memory drive used to collect and store the video footage. Date of service was on 1/21/22.I subsequently noticed that the provider used a third party application - i.e. a free and unlicensed version ********* to convey access to the video although that is both insufficient and unsustainable given the non controlling interest the plumbing company has in the third party. Ultimately, this is unacceptable (and misleading) as the plumbing company has no legitimate commercial right to ensure for ownership of the file I paid $253 for.After receiving the ******* link I then emailed the plumbing company on 1/22/22 to convey my unease and to request remedy by way of otherwise being sent a digital (e.g. MP4) or hardcopy file, such as with the external (flash drive) the video was originally recorded to, or else a refund. After a brief exchange with the company, I realized those efforts would be in vain given their immediate response was for me to "Resize the file", which clearly indicated they had no clue what they responded with as you cannot resize a web hosted link. I then called the company to underscore my concern and to seek remedy yet after speaking with a ***** who then transferred me to their office manager, ***, I had the same erroneous information shared with me & that wound up leading to me being both accosted by the office manager and led to believe I'd receive support for receiving the original externally recorded file or otherwise having the owner of the company reach me after the coming Christmas holiday for remedy. To be sure, I offered one more goodwill opportunity for the company to remedy their prior inadequacies as I emailed the company on 1/24/22 and offered the attached path forward.
