On March 28th, 2022 I was on the Mi.gov website contacting **** about my license renewal. A message came up which informed me I needed to talk to an attorney. I supplied them with my debit card number as it was stated a Dollar would be deducted from my account and I would be directed to an attorney.I was never in contact with an attorney. At my husbands request, I looked at my bank account. There was a pre-authorization deduction for $1.00 and $60.00 from JustAnswer and also a pre-authorization deduction of $59.00 from Health Forum.I immediately went to State Savings Bank to ask that these deductions be stopped. They said they couldnt stop a pre-authorization. The Health Forum was debited at that days processing and the $1.00 followed the next day. I eventually received the money back from ******************* however the bank has informed me on April 21st they would not refund the $59.00 even though I notified them before it posted and swore it was unauthorized.As per services protected under EFTA (Electronic Funds Transfer Act) are unauthorized transactions and the right to stop any pre-authorizations.(Section 205.10(c)(1)Also as stated in EFTA Regulation E (12CFR205.6) Unauthorized transfers not involving theft of an access device No liabilityWith State Savings Bank, this was not the first incident they have refused to honor Federal regulations. I had reported an unauthorized use previously of someone buying a gift birthday card from Amazon for $100.00, which they sent to themselves. (It was obvious I didnt order it and it wasnt my birthday). They refused my request for reimbursement.This Bank has shown it will never reimburse someone for illegal and unauthorized use of a debit card.,
