In November 2023, they installed new gutters at my home. Although I thought they were a good company, I had a bad experience.They started off removing my old gutters by kicking them down hard, and jamming them down HARD with a wood board. Their loud, hard pounding made me feel they might be hurting my house structure. But I knew nothing about gutter installation, so I said nothing. Later, I learned that the proper method is to start off by loosening the gutters with a pry bar.They ended up working after dark, and did their best to pick up after themselves before leaving. But for several days after that, I kept finding pieces of sharp-edged scrap aluminum all over my lawn and driveway. I was concerned about our cats getting hurt, and flat tires. Some of the wood fascia boards that they put in were not fully painted, their ends and backs left unpainted. Concerned that some of the wood is not protected and might get wet and rot, I called their manager. He said that wood behind the gutters will not get wet as long as I maintain the gutters carefully and do not let leaves pile up too high. However, in ********, sometimes the leaves fall all at once and they do pile up. And in winter, **** fills up the gutters, then goes through thaw/freeze cycles, where the melting snow and ice will penetrate where ever it can. Last, the aluminum material was only ***** inches thick. During the installation, I noticed the new gutters were flimsy. Later, I learned that ***** inch material thickness is standard only for southern ***. For areas with heavy snowfall and strong winds, ***** inch is better, and will last longer.Although I decided to pay them the final amount due, I don't feel confident about their work. I do not know if the fascia board behind the gutters will rot, and if the gutters will withstand ******** weather. My online research suggests that these gutters might only last a few years, whereas gutters made from ***** inch thick aluminum should last 20 years.
