I purchase feeder mice weekly for our sand boa. We never had an issue until the last mouse we got. I did mention that the one the girl picked up was large we wanted a smaller one but she told me they are all the same it was clear they are not but I did not want to argue because again we are in there weekly buying at least a mouse if not stuff for ours dogs and cat as well. The mouse bit our snake when he tried to eat him. We removed the mouse who was always very aggressive anytime we tried to pick it up move it ect. The bite led to infection $100s in vet bills and the snake still passed away on 5/01/2024. I did contact **** hound through the chat this information as well as my contact information was supposed to be passed on and someone was supposed to contact me as i asked as a company how you are going to make this right. I didnt have high hopes. But to not even receive an email or call apologizing at the very least is mind blowing. The snake was my daughters best friend shes still very emotional about it all and had the employee listened and provided a different mouse its likely this would not have happened at all. I was hopefully youd even refund the mouse maybe offer to cover a portion of the vet bill ect but i see now that the customers and their pets mean nothing which is extremely disappointing. I do not think we will be back at this point.Initial Complaint

I was bitten by a rat in the ********* **** Hound Pet Supplies store location on January 12, 2024. I now have approximately $500 worth of copayments due for a visit to the emergency room (and another $800 already paid for by my insurance company.)No one I can reach is willing to take any responsibility despite the fact that the manager, *****, whom I spoke with today (March 5, 2024) was fully aware of the incident even said that the previous manager had handled it and ***** was told about the incident by the previous manager, *******************************. The day it occurred the staff said, there is typically a sign on the cage saying to keep fingers away - but the rat chews it off. No proof of vaccinations for the rat could be provided. So, because the skin was broken (I was bleeding and they had to find a band aid) to ensure I didn't have a reaction to some unknown disease the rat could be carrying my primary care provider said to go the emergency room right away. I am seeking compensation only for the unpaid copayment of my insurance, which the current store manager, ***** said didn't seem unreasonable but she had no ability to do anything about it. She then gave me the number ot a customer service line where I'm sure I'll reach more people with no decision making authority. I had originally called the ************ HQ location to get to the admin team, but was told to call the store where it happened. No one cares, no one is empowered and certainly having this rat out was poor judgement and the responsibility of ****Hound - which I understand was recently acquired by another pet store. The amount below is what I have to pay for medical services due to their negligence. At this point, I am not seeking the full amount of the ** charges, nor am I seeking time lost from work.Customer response

Letting you know that this complaint has nothing to do with whirlpool, who are referenced in your reply. Unless they own ************* then I guess they would be involved.
Thank you,
