We hired *** March 17th for bathroom remodel and to replace/fix a leaking sliding door. He was paid $4546. The bathroom was originally not completed properly, and the entire time we waited for the door to come in, he made numerous stops at my employer or phone calls stating hed be out to fix the bathroom, and would no-show every time. He eventually notified us the original door was in, the first week of May. He stated he would be out to begin working Friday the 6th, and repair the issues with the bathroom. I went and deposited the deposit as requested. Hours later he informed us that the door arrived broken and a new door was ordered. He stated the new door would take 2-3 weeks *** to arrive. We waited weeks for the replacement door to arrive, to no avail. During that time, he stopped into my workplace on many occasions, again stating hed be out to fix the bathroom, again, no-showing. June 13th we requested yet another update on ETA for the door. He asked to call and stated that the door would still be a couple more weeks but they had a 9 ft slider and he could cut a bigger hole in the house. We declined to settle with that, rightfully so as that is not what was agreed upon, and would wait a little longer on the door that was supposedly ordered. June 21st we requested the order information for Alside so we could try and figure out where this door was, he stated he would get us the information when he got back to his computer and that he would call them also. I called Alside myself to see what was going on with the door. They informed me there was no door order, and that there never was to begin with. Only a 9 foot slider set aside on June 13th, the day that we had requested an ETA on our door. When confronted about this, and us requesting a partial refund, he then claimed he ordered a door with a different manufacturer, and refused to settle on a partial refund, which was odd considering he was in agreeance to call Alside on June 21st.
