    A Giroux technician was called because Giroux's web site showed them to be certified for ***** boilers and our boiler lost pressure. The puzzled technician came to our home (after being called twice with no response, blaming the answering service) had never seen a wall mounted boiler. He could not figure out how to get the front panel off and started yanking on the face of the whole unit to pry it off until he home owner stopped him and had to show him the manual that showed screws had too be removed first. He kept saying he was too short to see how it worked. Then he could not find the pressure reducing valve. The home owner had to call *****'s technical support 800 number to talk him through how to find the valve and which direction to turn it. Then he opened the valve too much causing the pressure to go too high: 50psi (ideal is 21psi). Then he opened the pressure relief valve wide open to decrease the pressure, and bled toxic Glycol out of the pipe spewing all over the floor (there were 3 drain pans prior to starting work, but he said they were in his way so removed them and nothing caught the drainage). He then grabbed one of the trays to try and catch the some of the glycol spill but put the pan upside down so it poured all over. Then he tried to find a sink to poor the toxic glycol but spilled more where the home owner pets sleep. There seemed to be a gas smell (he never turned off the gas while shutting off the power as instructed in manual); he claimed he could not smell as he had a broken nose. He dumped his entire tool bag upside down so tools scattered everywhere and kept dropping wrenches and talking about his back. He admitted he couldn't have done any work if the homeowner didn't call ***** as he had never seen a boiler like this. He then stated he would only charge us for 1 1/2 hours instead of 2; he had no idea why the pressure had dropped and shut down the system, and said we should have called someone who knew how to work on this boiler.

    First, we are extremely sorry for the poor service! We have spoken with the technician and placed him on leave while he goes through more training. We strive for the highest quality service for our customers, and we are sorry we let you down.. While we could not reach *********************************** directly, we did speak with her husband. We apologized, and told him we are giving a full refund. As a co-owner of the company I also offered to come out and make any repairs necessary, free of charge. If repairs are completed by others, we will pay for those services. As painful as the review was, we appreciate the feedback. We do not want this to ever happen again. Thank You
