In October, 2022, I paid $4400 for the following: extend the septic mound to eliminate flooding toward the house, install two 10 inch drain tiles, extending from the low lying area out to the lake for drainage, firmly pack and level the area behind the septic system so I can walk it safely by myself. This included removing any obstacles and debris. Install a cover over the drains so they will not get clogged during the spring drainage season. Contractor did none of the above. The drain tiles are not 10 inch and were installed less than 3 inches below the ground when they needed to be installed 12 to 15 inches deeper. When questioned, he said he could not put them deeper, due to rock which it has been verified by a third-party is a complete and total lie. He did not begin the drainage tile in the area specified originally, which is 50 to 75 feet toward the street from where it currently begins. It does not drain the entire culvert area. He did not inform me at any time of these changes to our original plan, knowing full well I could not get back there to see what work had or had not been done. To date, he has not removed the debris or leveled the area behind the septic mound, including a large tree ***** that prohibits my being able to walk back there safely. After several phone calls, he finally came out and installed the cover for the drain pipes so they would not clog on June 28, 2023. When I called him on June 29 to find out when he was coming to finish leveling the area, he informed me as far as he was concerned his work here was done. I respectfully disagreed and explain that I paid him a lot of money, specifically $4400 to do the above mentioned work and reminding him I sent him a check the day after, trusting that he had completed the work as specified, which he did not. He then ended the call by hanging up on me.
