    We took our 2002 Lance Truck Camper to Hillsdale GMC for repairs to the floor and front of the overhang (where the bed is) due to leakage from the front window. They were also going to fix the driver side rear corner that was separating. After they tore it down to determine the damage, they gave a quote of $7,255.86, which we accepted. We gave a down payment of $2,00.00 on 12/28/2022 to pay for materials. When we came to pick it up, they were still working on it and didn't even have everything done due to parts not arriving. We were horrified by the caulk job which they did on every seam (the attached pictures will bear that out!) They used both clear and white caulk and caulked over old black mildewed caulk without cleaning it. It was very clear that they had no idea what they were doing. We won't even know if they did a proper job on the repairs to the front window area and floor until we use the camper. We were also shocked to see that they were doing body work on a car in the same area and a heavy coat of dust was on everything, meaning they caulked over that as well! The rear driver's side corner that was separating was just filled in with caulk and not properly repaired, as well as the front top corner of the camper. We expressed our concerns about the repairs and the guy was very apologetic, saying that of the guys who were doing the work, one quit and one was fired and this guy who was the manager of the RV repair division has since left. He said he'd personally come to our house when it got warmer and redo the work and bring the ordered parts that hadn't yet arrived. We spoke with the manager of the dealership and she said that if you look at campers, the caulk never looks good, so she wasn't going to do anything. We paid $3,000 on 1/31/23 and left. The new person still hasn't redone the promised work. We want the GMC folks to pay a professional to redo their shoddy work as they clearly don't have any business doing this kind of work.
