VanderLaan Home Improvement installed a new roof for us in June 2021. I noticed a leak in the kitchen ceiling in October. I immediately called, someone came out the same afternoon and caulked around a pipe. We have a stain on the ceiling and joint tape is coming loose. Talked with Dave who sold us the new roof. We paid over $15,000. He never accepted any responsibility. He grudgingly said he would send someone out to replace the drywall. After I said painting would need to be done, Dave agreed to have that done also. He also said he would have a Cap Master put over the pipe, so we would have no more leaking. Nothing has been done. It is now December. Ina e called, just get answering machine. Another issue Dave said he would help me with, is see if there is a warranty on our siding, which has faded very much. Dave had one of his workers come last May 2021 and remove a piece of the siding from the garage to send to the company. I have heard nothing, seven months later. I have spoken to Dave about this twice, and all he says is he will check on it. He ever calls me back. I would like my original siding put back, so at least the siding is the same on the garage, if nothing is going to be done. Can you help me to get these two issues resolved? Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/06) */ We were notified of a leak a few weeks ago. We promptly sent 2 guys out (less than 24 hrs). We were shown the interior and then inspected the roof. The roof showed no signs of any issue. What was noticed is that at the vent pipe there was a small amount of caulk or tar on the vent pipe (not roof) that may have caused the pipe to not seal properly. We sealed the pipe boot to the vent pipe (not standard practice). I also offered to put on a secondary cover (normally a add on) for no cost. ***** asked about the drywall repair and I explained that typically we do not repair interiors . Damages like this occur over time and that if we were notified quicker this repair wouldnt be as significant. I then went on to say to ***** we would repair the ceiling. I have a work order out with a drywaller. He will be in contact with *****. ***** has not provided more than 2 weeks for these repairs to take place. I ask for her patience in this process. As far the siding goes it is a product warranty on materials we did not provide. We have reached out to the manufacture and will provide the repairs she is asking. This is also the first we have been notified of this request. At the end of the day everything is in process and it has been only 2 weeks. I ask for patience on all of this. These things should be taken care of approximately in Decemeber.
