I am filing this complaint on behalf of my mother. Her name is ***********************. My name is ***************************. I included her address but my email (she does not have email) and my phone number as she is 87 and it will be easier to speak to me if necessary.My mother hired Griffin Pest Solutions in December 2023 for a mouse problem. They insisted that she pre pay $192 and sign a yearly contract for additional visits. She sent the check. They cashed the check. They never showed up to do any work. My brother took care of the mouse problem since they never showed up and we could not let her live with a mouse problem.I then contacted Griffin to request they refund her money as they never did any work. My first contact with them was in February 2024. They said that corporate would cut a check in early March. My mother never received a check. After contacting them again, they said the check was sent to the wrong place and they would cut her another check in ****** No check ever showed up. I emailed them and said they left me no choice but to contact the attorney general's office and file a complaint as this was plain and simply put, fraud. I did file a complaint with the attorney general's office in May but have not heard back from them. So I am now filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau as I can only imagine the attorney general's office has greater concerns than ours. I am hoping you might be able to help my mother get the refund she rightfully deserves from Griffin Pest Solutions as no services were rendered.I do not have the contract with me but can provide it soon. I will be visiting my mother on Monday and can bring the contract home with me to make a copy of it.Customer response

******* Pest Solutions finally reimbursed my mother for the work they never did. They sent her a check for the full amount they owed her. So the matter should now be considered closed. I would like to thank you for your assistance. I think the three fronts - me, BBB, and a notice to the attorney general - may have finally convinced them that I was not giving up.Initial Complaint

I hired Griffin Pest Control to service my mother's address 6/27)23. At the time I explained the importance of servicing the inside for mice and the outside for wasps. I was told they would schedule appointments to ensure someone was at the residence was home to let them inside. I paid $275 for initial setup and was told there would be the first visit, a week follow-up and a monthly follow-up before it switched to 3 times a year at $45 per month.First visit was fine. They showed up at the correct time. The week follow-up the tech left a report saying he'd stopped by in the morning 5 hours before the schedule time and only did the outside. I called the manager and he agreed this was not protocol and would have the inside rescheduled the next day.Over a week went by and there was no call. I am moving there and 7/13-16 I stayed at my mother's to drop my furniture off. I received a service report stating the address had been serviced on the 14th between 7-8am. I then received a charge and statement for $55 designated as a service charge. This was followed by another email detailing when my next visit would be though I had not been consulted.I spoke to the same manager, ***, and he promised to look into the next day and call me ASAP. This didn't happen and he did not answer my calls or texts. His voicemail was full.I contacted the company and told them I wanted to cancel service and the service fee removed as they had not completed their work or filled their promises.Another manager called me back. ******* was her name. She told me the service charge was the monthly bill if $45. I reminded her I was charged $10 over that, it had not been a month and they never completed service. She said they were busy and only do inside when requested. I reminded her I stated it was the focus at setup. She said I was responsible for alerting them of issues. I had called a manager.She cancelled service and charged me $35 fee. The broken faith and contract was on them.Business response

I have 2 year old daughter who is sensory defensive so I need a company that can guaranteed no bugs. I trusted them with contact stating the word guarantee. I had to call them back out numbers of times for ants stink bugs and more. It says in contact that they would keep coming out to address the issues or they will refund my service. I told them I cant keep paying for service that has failed to guarantee anything. If my daughter sees the bug its a huge deal that why I paid for top notch gold service. ************ from what I was told at beginning was that it included the yard as well. Took me a year for them to finally treated the yard for ants only for them to only treat back yard not both front and back yard. I just paid $190 for cancellation fee because it was building up with late fees after I told them I refuse to pay for basically nothing. I even found tick in my house. I currently have that specific tick in jar in my freezer along with other ants and such in jars and that was the final straw for us to keep trying to work with themBusiness response

We guarantee to responsive to all concerns which we have done with a free call back on each one of his concerns. It wasn't until he was past due on payments that the "issues" started. I tried to work with him with sending a manager out to address any concerns but stated that if he wanted out of the contract he must pay the balance backInitial Complaint

The company: Griffin Pest Solutions* ********** Problem: Carpenter ants. My wife contacted Griffen Pest Solutions May 10, 2021 regarding treatment for the ants. ****** ******** customer service rep. sold her a "Gold Service Agreement which was for 1 initial treatment, $187 and 4 follow-up treatments each for $143 per. The initial treatment was successful. The company was subsequently notified by phone that we did not need or want more treatments. On September 11, 2021 my wife e-mailed notice WE DID NOT WANT FURTHER TREATMENTS! SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 Griffin again wanted to do another treatment, we reminded them we did not want any more treatments! February 3, 2022 Griffin debited our *** bank account for $343.20 without permission. Our mistaken belief was once we wanted these treatments ceased no further charges would apply. We definitely did not knowingly give Griffin access to our bank accounts. Businesses should not be able to charge for no service and certainly should not have access to our bank accounts through deceptive, misleading contracts.Business response

Good Morning,
Griffin charges a 60% cancellation fee of the original contract price which is stated in the contract that was signed and explained to the customer on the phone. When they sign up for a year service and cancel early this is our procedure. The customer was explained this on the phone and still agreed to cancel. I have attached a signed copy of the contract
