In the case of ***********************, Complaint Number: ********, we have investigated this matter with the full cooperation of the franchise-owned Byrider.  ************ is aggrieved by the mechanical difficulties she is experiencing with the vehicle.
************ purchased a 2014 Chrysler 200 on July 20, 2023 from the franchise-owned Byrider location on Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo, ********.  The vehicle is covered by a 36-month, ****** mile service contract, whichever occurs first.
While we understand that dealing with any service issue may be frustrating, a pre-owned vehicle, like any other mechanical device with moving parts, will require routine maintenance and periodic repairs to ensure its continued use.
*********** most recently brought her vehicle in for an intermittent brake noise and  water on the floorboards. The brakes were inspected but we were unable to diagnose and repair the issue causing the brake noise. No unsafe braking conditions were found. The drain tube for the ** box was disconnected and was draining into her car. We repaired the issue and cleaned out the water, pulling up the carpet to ensure they were fully dried.
Regarding the claim we told her the vehicle has an electrical issue, that is incorrect. We did inform ************ the **** system did need to be looked at by the dealer, which they were able to diagnose and repair. At this time the vehicles repairs have been completed and her vehicle is ready for pick up.
Byrider strives to achieve the satisfaction of every customer. We apologize for any inconvenience the issues have caused, and we value ************ as a customer.  We look forward to our continued relationship.

My suv was totaled in December 2022, end of January 2023 I reach out to byrider about a car. They offered me a 2013 dodge avenger, or nothing. I'm a single mom, and at that time I was trying to get a vehicle to keep my job. They sold it to me with a clause in the agreement that within 30 days they would have the front driver's side control arm fixed, cuz if not the other will go out and make the car unsafe to drive at all. Could not get an answer from the service ***** nor a call back after messeges have been left. After close to 8 months of trying to get ahold of the service **** and even going there, the other control arm went out, along with the rear passenger hub assembly. My daughter now has no way to school, I lost my job and am about to lose my home. All because this car became unreliable. They are still calling, emailing and texting me for money every day. I told them that all I need is the cost of the repairs, since it been over 30 days and it's now on me to fix. They refuse to give that to me, so I've stopped paying on it as I have to find new transportation now. I don't have friends or family that can help. All I want Is for them to give me another car of my choosing, or ALL the money I have paid on that car back. I'm not the only person to have this issue with byrider of kalamazoo, look at their ****** reviews, they are corrupt and love to s**** people over. The car they sold me, was a lemon. I want my money back, because they endangered my daughter's life, she's 5.

In the case of ***************************, Complaint Number: ********, we have investigated this matter with the full cooperation of the franchise-owned ****.  ******************** is aggrieved at the handling of the repossession of the vehicle.
******************** purchased a 2013 Dodge Avenger on January 26, 2023  from the franchise-owned Byrider location on Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo, ********.  The vehicle was covered by a 36-month, ****** mile service contract, whichever occurs first.
We have no records of ******************** attempting to contact service regarding the service work in the first 30 days. ******************** wrecked the vehicle damaging the rim and wheel bearing making the vehicle undriveable. She declined to file an insurance claim to repair the vehicle and ceased making payments.
******************** defaulted on her retail contract, and her vehicle was subsequently repossessed on August 15, 2023.  All the necessary forms and letters were sent to the address on file for ********************. She has expressed she does not have the money to repair the vehicle through an insurance claim, or make up her past due payments.
Additionally, **** has written policies and procedures that govern the repossession process to ensure that every repossession adheres to federal and state regulations.
At **** we strive for the highest level of satisfaction for every customer.  While we sympathize with ********************** predicament, she did default on their retail contract.

      Complaint: 20564297

I am rejecting this response because:

The damage to the rims was there when I bought the car, the wheel bearing was not damaged from me. The yellow paint on the side of the car was from getting too close to a yellow post at ******* scrapping the door and panel. Pictures are being attached of the day it happened, 4 Months before the wheel bearing went out.

They were also told that when i bought the car, rhe seal around the windsheild was dry rotted, but wasnt able to see that til after all the snow had melted off, the washer fluid line was not hooked up nor was there washer fluid in the car, the hood would leap up by the windsheild when a vehicle/semi would pass, the turn signal left wouldn't stay so i had to hold it, in the first 2 months i had to replace the license plate due to the one ********************** put on falling off going down the road, had to buy ************* to put the rear spoiler back on, something in the dash creaks and cracks even when the car is off, the heat and ac would just cut off then it wanted, the front driver control arm was bad and i informed the sales person that the other one would go bad if it didnt get fixed soon. I wanted to set up an appt that day but was informed no one was in and i would have to call them. NO ONE ANSWERS THAT PHONE. Since they sold me an already falling apart car and charged me 3 times it's worth before taxes, took advantage of a single mom in desperate need of a vehicle to get to work that night and my daughter to school in the morning, I'm only willing to owe $1,500 as a balance on that car. They will already be making more off of it at auction. I only offer this option to make good on the contract I signed but on my terms this time since they sold me a car they knew was damaged and wouldn't be fixed in time. Also they did not repo the car, I called and told them to come get it because I was furious that the car was broken down less than 8 months after buying it. They needed to look at it and tell me what was wrong with it. It took them 3 weeks and a messege to bbb to get them to even call me with the amounts I needed to know. Then had to owner surrender the car because the amount and extra fees were too much for a single mother to come up with. The car was not repossessed, I turned it over to them.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

We have no records of the issues she is stating as no messages were left on our service line, we return all messages left on our service line. We can not state the condition of the bearing at the time of the accident, but at the time of sale the rim and wheel bearing were not in bad condition, as all vehicles go through a comprehensive inspection prior to sale.
******************** defaulted on her retail contract. **** attempted to work through the issues with the customer and ultimately made the difficult decision to repossess the vehicle on August 15, 2022.  and  The vehicle will be sold at auction and all the necessary forms and letters will be sent to the address on file for *********************

This is an auto loan giving to my son. I was mislead to believe I had no responsibility at all for this loan. This loan was made on July 03 2015 the balance on this loan is $9844.00. The vehicle was wrongfully repossessed and there has never been a judgement or garnishment against me. This has been sitting on my credit report and I would like for this to be removed.
