I have had my taxes done by Integrity (was ********) for over ten years. Every year was the same routine. During 2019 I filed an extension for my 2018 taxes due to my wife's medical challenges and an *** audit for 2016. **** (my accountant) had me come to the office several times because of questions regarding the audit. One of the early visits I brought him my standard box of everything 2018 (Monthly envelopes of all transactions and QuickBooks log in info). I signed paperwork for the 2016 audit and believed I was also signing for my *************************************************** 2019.A little over a year ago I received a letter from the *** with a bill stating that I never filed 2018 taxes. The bill was aprox ****** . I called Integrity in a panic and was told **** no longer was an employee, he had been let go, no additional information would be given. They said they did not have any of my 2018 tax info, that I must have it. I searched the entire house multiple times in a panic and called the following week. They looked again and found it. I had a meeting with the manager who said because nothing was signed they were not liable and they offered no help. I hired ************* to help who promised they would be able to have the penalties dropped. This entire process has taken so long only to learn ************* could not help reduce the penalties. Months ago I called and spoke with the manager/owner of Integrity to share my experience. She was concerned and said that this was not right, apologized and said she was going to talk with the last manager I had met with and call me back. She did not. I have called to talk with her and she will not return my calls.My wife suffers with Fibromyalgia and a number of related ailments. We are in the ** on average 5 plus times a year. We have three young children. I am the sole provider. This entire experience was unnecessary, all of this additional anxiety and stress also unnecessary.
