Last year I was on their website looking for classes that I needed to get my associates degree in nursing. Unfortunately all the class times that they had available interfered with my work schedule. I decided not to commit to anything that spring due to the times that were offered. Two weeks later I received an email stating that I owed ***** dollars for an anatomy course that I apparently registered for. I know for a fact I did not register for this class. I called multiple times to try and straighten all of this out but they said it didnt matter and that I am responsible for the payment. I tried to tell them that someone must have hacked my account because I would have never registered for that particular class due to my work schedule. ****** the assistant **** was nothing but rude and nasty to me about the whole situation. She said that I needed to file a police report if I am not the person who registered for the class because my account must have been hacked and that this would be considered identity theft. I explained that I am a mother of three I work full time and I only take home ***** every two weeks. I am basically broke and very busy with my kids. She had NO empathy what so ever, and said that if I do not pay this in full they will be sending it to collections. I am absolutely beside myself considering that I already have ***** of school debt from medical assisting school, and now my credit may be effected by this because there is no way that I can pay this ***** dollar bill for a class that I never registered for nor did I attend. I would hate for anyone else to have to go through this nightmare that I have. I hope that by filing this report it will help others to be aware of what a shady and money hungry school system this is. Please help.??????Business response

We reviewed her concern and validated the students enrollment history on our student information system (Colleague) which tracks all enrollment (course registration and course drop or withdrawal) and found her concern to be unfounded:
******* has been enrolled regularly since Fall 2003 and through fall 2006
During this period, it shows she registered, dropped, and withdrew from classes
She applied for readmission in winter 2023
She received a checklist on steps she needed to complete, which included academic advising, registration using Ocelot Access (student portal) information, and resources
On 1-5-23, she met with an academic advisor and was advised to register for MATH 111 and BIOL 237
On 3-27-23 at 10:31 AM, she, or someone using her Ocelot Access credentials, registered in Ocelot Access for BIOL 236 course (our Colleague system captured her registration via Ocelot Access/
No Schoolcraft employees can register students for classes on Ocelot Access as this is a student portal which requires the student ID number and a self-selected password; the only condition is if she filled out a registration form, signed it, and gave it to a registration center employee (this requires a student to physically visit the registration); this bypasses Ocelot Access, and if done in this manner, our Colleague system will indicate as such
