In February 2023 Feldman serviced my car and did a lot of work without actually repairing the vehicle. After 2 trips in, and almost $5K in repairs and I still had to bring my car to another shop to get their diagnosis. The technician at the other repair shop took the time to show me what the actual original issue was, and it ended up being a part that was installed incorrectly by one of Feldman's technicians, and then was overlooked because they didn't want to admit they could have made a mistake - resulting in a very costly repair that could have actually been unnecessary. The manager made it sound like the reason my car wasnt fixed was because I declined a diagnosis on a part that didnt even need diagnosing at all - and wasn't even close to the cause of the issue. I still don't know if I actually needed to replace parts that I had to pay for.My car is back at Feldman for a repair to be covered under Warranty by the fiasco from Feb 2023 and I am afraid that Feldman is again wasting time and resources. I had an appointment set on Weds 1/31/24 and was told the original service representative whom I had specifically asked to not work with was working on my vehicle. I called the service manager and general manager - neither have called back. I spoke with the service representative directly and told him I wanted another representative helping me. It is now Tues 2/6/24, no word on my vehicle. The service manager claims he has called me multiple times - he did not. I have no clue what they are doing to my car, and it appears they do not know either.Feldman Chevrolet of Livonia Response

On 1/31/2023 the customer brought his 2016 ***** Trax with ******* miles on it in with 3 concerns. There was a burning smell under the hood, sputtering at a stop and the check engine light on. When reviewing the cost of diagnosis, the customer declined to have the check engine light fully diagnosed as well as the sputtering. He only wanted the burning smell looked at. There were several fluid leaks that needed to be fixed to correct the burning smell. The cost of the repair was ******* after a ****** discount. After the car was picked up after we fixed the leaks that was causing the burning smell the customer was not happy with the sputtering of which he originally declined the diagnosis on. The service manager then thought it prudent to go ahead and do a no cost diagnosis on the issues. We found the turbocharger was causing his issues and we came to an agreement that he would cover the cost of the Tubo Charger and we would install at no charge to him. He paid $1006.75 to cover the cost of parts. The customer came in 1 year later with ******* miles, an additional ****** miles on his Trax. He was looking to see if his current issues would be warrantied based on last years repairs. The technician he saw at the other repair shop said it was a part we installed improperly. That technician was incorrect in his opinion of the diagnosis. We diagnosed his car at no cost to him and his current problem is the front engine crank seal is leaking onto the serpentine belt causing the noise he is hearing. These issues were not part of the repair he had done las year in Jan/Feb 2023. Our Service manager has since spoken to the customer with this information on 2/6/2023. He has decided to decline these current repairs and he has since picked up his vehicle as well on 2/6/2024.Thanks *********************** General ManagerReview from Toriano D

Feldman sold us a nice looking vehicle last week of December so I understand that it took a couple of weeks. However the problems were not fixed: We still have a broken step. (2 trips in and the service department telling us it's a sale's issue and vice versa we were told to take it to an outside auto shop for the repair. When I asked about the $10,000 warranty we purchased I was told by ***** the sales rep " the warranty only covers start steer and stop.". The brakes squealed. The service center said that it was a rock. That is understandable. The automatic starter was installed when we purchased the vehicle. However the installation caused lights in the dash to stay on and so they had to keep the car a few days to fix that. Now, there is an issue where the car refuses to start for the past couple of weeks. We just got the car in after being told that it would take a week 2 get to us. During the time that the vehicle sat a large bulge developed on the outside of the tire. I did not think that it would be safe so I drove it to the tire shop right down the street. They said it could be two things a pothole or defective Tire. But seeing as there was no damage to the rem or hubcap that it was more likely a defective Tire. If the dealership just put the tires on then it would probably be under warranty. However, after taking it to Feldman today and informing them of the tire I was told that we did not purchase the tires from them even though the paperwork that they gave us when we purchase the car said that there was a full inspection and they installed two front tires. The battery, starter, or whatever electrical issue this vehicle is currently having definitely falls under the start in start stop and steer however the person at the service desk simply said to pay $150 inspection fee and if there is anything wrong with it then it will be a $200 deductible. I understand the duck tables for insurance policies. However I was not aware that the warranty only covered repairs in Feldman dealerships. So even if I have another mechanic to look at it and repair it I would have no Financial recourse for reimbursement. My trust in dealing with Feldman is becoming non-existent. I would prefer all correspondence and estimates emailed in writing. I have a feeling that they are going to try to bring as much money out of us as possible. The point was to go to a reputable dealership and get a vehicle for reliable transportation. The warranty was purchased alleviate the stress and strain a costly repairs to used vehicle. But to be told that the things they told us they were doing they never actually did... That's unacceptable.
