We kicked off a house with Pere Marquette Builders in the spring of 2020. We acknowledge that they did not have control over the timing of the modular portion completed by another company, so for this complaint we will consider a start date of July 2021 when the mostly-completed house was set. It has been 18 months since then and Pier Marquette Builders has not finished their portion of the house. Our contract did not include a completion deadline, but 18 months is beyond the reasonable amount of time to finish a house. Were not sure if the owner, ***********************, intentionally lies or truly has no idea what the timing is. For example, we were told that the plumbing would be finished and receive inspection by January 25th 2023, but when we visited the house on January 29th we saw the plumbing had not made any progress in the past 6 months. The plumber is not a direct Pere Marquette employee, but **** does not take any responsibility for getting it completed or obtaining accurate timing updates. Similarly, when we were waiting many months to get a well drilled, **** refused to find a new company, so we had to quote/hire it out ourselves (and were able to have it completed within one week). The work that can be completed by *************************** employees is also not being completed, such as the ******** and porch screen. The work that they did complete progressed very slowly as if a small team works on the house only a few days per month.Overall, the building of this house has been grossly mismanaged for nearly three years and there is no completion date in sight.
