Today at approximately 5:58 PM EST, I visited Beaumont UC Royal Oak for pre employment drug testing. Before arriving I called and spoke with ****** (Receptionist) who advised me that walk ins are welcome and between 8 AM - 6 PM. After arriving and letting staff know why I was there, another young lady (not ******) told me they don't do drug screens after 6. I replied with "it's before 6 it's 5:58", and ****** immediately inserted herself by saying "you're here two minutes before 6 and you still need to get registered". That back and forth banter went on for a couple of minutes. ****** went on to say "and I can call my manager" and that "the machines cut off at 6", and "that I should've been here earlier to register".I expressed vehemently how I called beforehand and was not advised of registration timing and that I used public transportation ($20 Lyft) to make it there. Then ****** walks away from the front desk to contact a manager I'm assuming.After ****** left the desk I was then greeted by *****, who I was led to believe was the manager. ***** asked for my "epassport" and my reply was "will I be able to test today", he replied with "well I need to see it first". Then ***** began to scrutinize the epassport email leaving me to feel that he was looking for another reason to turn me away. After ***** looked at the email he handed me back my phone then walked away. As ***** walked away from me and back behind the reception desk, ****** appeared then told me that "the manager can't do nothing either" with an attitude.***** reinserted himself by reaffirming that there is nothing they can do about this. *****'s tone and body posture was smug, gross and indifferent as was all the staff that was apart of this.****** then called the police while I am expressing how I had been made to feel throughout the process. I didn't yell curse or demean anyone, nor did I make any threats, just expressing my feelings and frustrations due to the lack of communication.
