The contractor: ********************* took my money $10,500.00 on 05/02/2023 for a job as $21,000.00 to frame the basement and drywalls for the whole house as upstairs and downstairs. He didn't passed the inspection for ceiling framing in the basement until June 15, 2023. He and other helpers came to install the drywall on 06/19 and didn't know what they are doing for drywall by installing the walls first before the ceiling. I asked him to take them down and install the ceiling first. His company came to work only few part time days in that week. All my other contractors didn't like what they are installing my drywalls and told his staff/helpers "you guys don't know what you are doing". They packed their tools and left. I called and txt **** after that but no response or call/txt back.I called the cops. The deputy *********** came to the site and made the report and talked with ****. The cop came to back to me and gave me his home address ************************************************************************ and told me that **** also was yelling and rude to him. Cop asked me to *** him by circuit court for over $5000.**** also was trying to trap me for brick job at $18,000 while he doesn't know what to do for drywall and lay the bricks. I didn't hired him. There is other small jobs that he worked for me such as $600 to lay 300 bricks. After the work, it was only 220 bricks and didn't pass the inspection because no flashing. Inspector asked me to take the wall down or fix it. We have to take most of those bricks down. I already paid him $300 and not worth it. Also, he installed shower base for $800 that I didn't pay him yet. Conclusion: I have to hire other drywaller for $31000 intake to pay him $21,000 because I need to move on to finish my house. I am asking him to return $10,500 - $800 (shower base) = $9,700. Otherwise, I will *** him to pay for all difference $10,000 from other drywaller.
