My husband and I paid ****** Esser II, who owns Esser Builders II, in full for a very large project on our home. ****** Esser II has yet to finish this project. We have been informed that this project that included to add on roughly 500 sq ft, to include plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling to the home, new roof on home and garage, new deck on the front of home, ****** Esser II did NOT pull one permit for this project, which he told us he did. ****** Esser II nor his staff are licensed to do any of this type of work and because ****** did not want to pull those permits he has caused so much damage and issues in our home. We have had to pay for a plumber to come out to unclog because 1. the plumbing was done incorrectly and 2. because the staff at Esser Builders II washed paint, debris, drywall, plaster down our kitchen sink drain cause the plumbing to back up into the showers and toilets. We paid Mr. ****** to come out and unclog those, ****** Esser has yet to reimburse us for that or have a plumber come out and correct the plumbing, nor pulled a permit. The staff at Esser Builders II did not do the electrical in the addition to code and has yet to pull a permit for the electrical or have a licensed contractor come to our home and do it correctly. The staff did not do the heating and cooling correctly nor pull a permit for such. A structural engineer permit was not either as the staff at Esser Builders II took out an exterior wall of the home and now we are not sure if this even done to code. We simply want our money returned to us so that we can hire the correct licensed and insured contractors to do the work on home to make sure that it is safe for us to be in as well. ****** Esser II took full advantage of us and our situation as we are an elder couple with health issues as well. ****** return the funds or do the proper thing and hire the contractors and have the work completed to code with permits in the next 2 weeks.Business response

We never took advantage of anyone, we have been very responsive and made sure to see the entire project through. We did pull permits, a structural engineer permit was not required, or else the building department would have asked for one before the finalizing of the permit. We have our builders license so we are licensed to do the work on the home. We did reimburse them for their Mr. ****** bill as a sign of good faith, although we are not certain of the reason for the clog. The customers stated a couple months back the few things they wanted addressed, but other than that they were very happy and get many compliments on the work. The job is completely closed out by the municipality, all inspections completed and passed. We have not had any grievance communication from the customer directly outside of what we had discussed in person with them the last couple times we stopped by. There are zero grounds for a refund as work was completed as quoted and all permits are finalized and closed.

Last September, I gave $28k to Esser Builders II for windows, wood repair, gutters, down spouts, repair back porch, and paint the house. That deposit was supposed to get me on the spring schedule. In this amount of time, no one has as much as measured a window let alone just show up or even contact me. I have called Al Esser and email the office with no results. I need to sell my home and I am completely missing the housing market. I've even asked for my money back to hire someone else.I'm 66 years old, that amount of money is hard to give to someone to sit on, as I am paying interest on that money.I need help. So, I am reaching out to you first, to see if there is ANYTHING that you can help me with.Prices keep going up, and that down payment will be worth about half of what it was last September 9, 2023.I need this job started and finished so I can list my home for sale.If he doesn't want to do the job, fine. Just give me back my money, with interest at 12 12% as that is what I am paying in interest since last year.Thank you *************************** ************
