    I've been taking my two pets to Animal Health Associates for over three years, usually seeing different vets. Unfortunately, today I saw Dr. I. My dog has had recurring neck infections due to a foreign body for four months,, he has had several appointments for this issue, and today, was supposed to be his surgery day. The infections have caused my dog immense pain, as documented in his records. On 5/3/24, another vet advised that if a third round of medication didn't solve the issue, surgery would be necessary. The infection returned by the week of 6/12/24, and during the recheck, a different vet wanted to prescribe antibiotics again. I insisted on surgery, as previously advised, to address the foreign body causing the infections. Despite my insistence, the vet prescribed antibiotics. The surgery was scheduled for 6/19/24. After dropping off my dog, Dr. Alex I called me within 10 minutes. He informed me that he wouldn't perform the surgery because he couldn't see or feel the foreign body, claiming it would be malpractice. Dr. I inappropriately suggested that "God had cured" my dog, even though my dog was on his fourth round of antibiotics for the same issue. I asked if the vet who recommended surgery was still employed there, and Dr. I confirmed she was. I went to pick up my dog and requested to speak with her, but she wasn't available. I then asked to leave a note for her to call me. The receptionist informed me that I owed $30 for a recheck, which I disputed since nothing had been done for my dog. Dr. I then appeared, rudely telling me to take my records and leave. He publicly berated me in front of staff and customers, insisting I didn't understand the situation. I have followed the care plan and paid on time, with no prior conflicts until today. It's irresponsible to create a care plan for a suffering animal and then refuse to follow through. Pet owners should feel comfortable advocating for their pets, as they know them best.
