    Alert:

On December 18, 2023, BBB Serving Eastern Michigan and Upper Peninsula investigated Connect Shipping for its business practices. An investigation was prompted by consumer inquiry and BBB Scam Tracker reports alleging a) job seekers were contacted about a work from home mail forwarding opportunity. b) they were told that the company obtained their information from an employment website. c) they were told they would be paid monthly to inspect, re-label or forward packages. d) on their pay date, they are unable to log in to their work dashboard and Connect Shipping did not respond to phone calls or email requests for assistance. e) they later received a fake letter purporting to be from U.S. Postal Inspector McNamee.

According to information in BBB files, "Connect Shipping" has the hallmarks of an employment scam designed to convince job seekers to receive merchandise, add a new shipping label, and mail it to another location. In addition to forwarding packages, consumers have been asked to use their credit card to purchase items to be shipped to others. One consumer told BBB “At one point a lady named Kayla called me from Connect Shipping and said I was offered a promotion to a Purchasing Agent position and asked if in the transition period I could use my personal credit card to purchase items. I told her that I didn't have any credit cards and she told me that it was ok that we could wait on a corporate credit card to come in the mail to me.”

Mail to 19600 32 Mile Rd #2A New Haven, MI 48050 was returned by U.S. Postal Service. The business has been unresponsive to phone calls, and emails to [email protected] were never read. The website connectlogisticsus.com was created on 10/12/23 and the registrant’s name remains private.

If you are currently in communication with Connect Shipping, Connect Logistics US, Dash Connect, if you receive a letter from U.S. Postal Inspector Steve McNamee, or a Fed Ex bill related to this scheme, please **discontinue communication** immediately.

If you have additional information to share about Connect Shipping, please contact U.S. Postal Inspectors at 1-877-876-2455 (press 5) and submit a BBB Scam Tracker report at https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker.

I was contacted by ************************* supposedly a HR representative from East Shipping around 01/15/24 after I applied to a job posting on Indeed, that was for Package inspector, the job consisted of receiving packages and opening packages inspecting them and upload pictures of goods and slips into their dashboard and send it out. Based salary was $3000 with up to $1800 in bonus. ******* sent me the contract and in there says that my first payment was to be in exactly 1 month of my first package. I received also form W4, and several email welcoming onboarding. After several days I received my first package on 01/21/2024, I sent out the package. after a couple of weeks of sending packages they stop sending packages but still told me to login 3 times a day to keep assistance going. I got to do a deeper search on the internet, and got to see that East Shipping is same company as Connect Shipping, saw several complaints regarding people getting lock out of dashboard and not getting pay their dues, also not answering any phone calls, some people kept their packages due to no payment, and getting threaten to release the packages or will be sued or sending police to their houses, that never show up. on my last week I was sent 1 package for that week and their system was crashing, that was 2 days before my payment day. Today is 02/21/24 it supposed to be my payday, and I was lock out of dashboard, and they are not answering. I am making a BBB report, police report, report it to labor board. and report it to INDEED, they are all over this platform, luring people to work from home.
