12/2022 I purchased a cigar humidor, humidifier and additional shelf as a birthday/Christmas gift for my boyfriend, ****, from Elegant Bar (EB) $1927.44 1/ 2023, we noticed the humidity was not as consistent as it should be. **** contacted EB, and relocated humidor to another room. EB didn’t offer much help. After numerous searches online how to fix the humidity issue **** discovered we were not the only one, there are a lot of unhappy EB customers. 2/2023, I complained on FB and left a few bad reviews. Moisture was building up in cabinet, humidity was off from top to bottom and **** was about to lose 500-600 cigars, which is a couple thousand dollars. *** ***** reached out to me via FAcebook and was more willing to work with **** this time, sending a piece he thought could be not working properly. We tried it. It didn’t work. *** suggested a second humidifier for the humidor, which would mean losing the additional shelf I paid $130 for. **** did more research and discovered that people with the same humidor have had success with a different brand humidifier so he purchased that one. When he dumped the water out of the original humidifier it was a rusty brown color. He opened it and discovered mold. I sent info to *** with EB with photos, and requested a refund. I was offered replacement wicks. I refused. The humidifier doesn’t work for that humidor. The new humidifier **** purchased elsewhere maintains humidity and now he doesn’t need to add a second humidifier and lose a $130 shelf. I made my purchase based on their recommendations on their site - screenshots attached, no where does it say a second humidifier may be required. I wanted to be refunded the $375 I paid for the EB-100 since it didn’t work properly and is covered in mold. It wasn’t even used 3 months, and with distilled water only. It never worked properly and if we did what *** suggested and add second humidifier there was no guarantee it would work. Plus **** would have lost a shelf.
