On October 3, 2022 we hired Steam and Squeegee LLC, owner *****************, ********************************************************************* to clean our windows and carpeting at our summer home ********************************************************. The home is a chalet style with 23 windows, including 3 rows high of 4 large windows across the front of the home, 11 other windows, and 3 doors. The cleaning crew was at our home about 2 hours. The windows appeared clean, and we were satisfied with the carpet cleaning, so we paid the amount billed of $569. Several hours later upon returning from a walk I saw hundreds of "prisms" on the front windows. Upon close examination my husband and I determined that the "prisms" were a result of many scratches and scrapings in the glass. The scratches being deeper and the scrapings a broad shallow scrape. Most if not all windows are damaged. We immediately called **** and told him of the scratches. Shortly after **** and another window washer returned to our home and inspected several windows. The sun was starting to go down and the "prisms" were becoming less noticeable, but scratches were still visible. **** agreed that the windows were indeed badly scratched. **** brought the tool he used to clean our windows he stated it was brand new and would not have scratched our windows. The tool was a steel scraper with a 56inch blade. It was the main tool used to "clean" our windows. We told him our windows were not scratched like that before he used the blade on them, and we were certain it did indeed damage our windows. **** did not deny damaging our windows. **** stated he had insurance and that he would contact his insurance company. Pictures of some of the scratched windows were sent to ****. On October 27, we received a call from **** and he stated that his insurance company would not cover the damages. He offered no other resolution. Nov 10, we told **** that our insurance denied coverage of damages due to his faulty workmanship. There has been no resolution.
