On 9-25-2023 D & D Heating and Cooling came out looked at the job and ordered a duct fan. On 10-2-2023 D & D came out and installed it. It quit working the first time we used it, We called them a few times, finally got a hold of the owner ***** *** I was told that fan is not designed for our application. we will not issue all of your $150 back because we have labor cost. (but they are the ones that ordered and installed the wrong fan) ***** said he would come by and give us some money back, never showed up, don't return phone calls.Business response

The customer had an existing duct fan in their home, they informed us that their duct fan had stopped working at their home.
They asked if we could replace the duct fan with the exact fan they had in their home, so I had my secretary order the EXACT duct fan they had in their home, knowing the same one they asked me to order has already quit on them once before but that's what they wanted so that's what we ordered.
A month or so went by and they called and said the duct fan isn't working any longer.... There is NO warranty on duct fans.
When we replaced the duct fan with the new one, at the time of install it was working... if it had only been a day and the fan went out it may have been something i could have talked with our suppliers about but because it was at least a month after, there is nothing we can do for them with there being no warranty on these fans.

****** Or ***** *******We had asked D&D to order a duct fan, ours was still working but had a bad bearing sound, we didn't demand the exact duct fan, they were the heating and cooling experts so we had them order what they felt the replacement should be.
We didn't have cold enough temperatures to warrant the use of the pellet stove for about a month. When it got cold enough to be needed, the first time it was used it completely stopped working. When I brought it up to the owner ***** ***, that it quit working the first time it was used, he informed me that fan was not designed for that application.
Therefore, we feel we are entitled to a full refund of $150, seems if they are in the business, they should make sure the product fits the application, especially when it comes to heat generating equipment. D&D should know what to install or not install. They are licensed & should know more than the homeowner. This is not a warranty issue; D&D installed the wrong fan. Regardless of what the customer wants, it's up to the contractor to make the decision if it's safe & proper.
