I paid off my car and received a letter of satisfaction, stating no further amounts due on the account. However, for the past 5 years there is a balance due on my credit report that I have asked to be removed several times in which they havent. They shared I owe this balance due to mileage overage, in which I informed them that I filed a hardship application sent to me by them and it was received and satisfied them. Thats why I do not owe the mileage overage it was dismissed/ removed. As of April 2023, an argumentative customer service manager informed me that they would not accept the satisfaction letter I received from their company b/c it was a mistake. And that this is my fault b/c I went over on mileage causing this problem and that in all of the years that he has worked for Lincoln he has never heard of a hardship application. And, further declared an investigation has to be done. My Lincoln was paid off in 2018, mileage debt removed in the same year. I have never received a letter nor was I ever informed on any of my phone calls with Lincoln that I still owed for mileage and that is why the balance is on my credit report. This was the first time anyone has ever stated that. With that being said I am totally frustrated and displeased with Lincoln financial that they would not honor their own letters sent to me on their letter head stating no monies due. instead they have decided to blame me for being responsible by telling them of my hardship and rectifying the situation properly via their recommendations. I do not owe Lincoln financial. I want them to remove their company and false balance from my credit report immediately. And I believe an apology is in order.
