  Hired contractor for house renovations. estimate $6,600; Paid $2,500 dep. task list (5' x 30" shower with seat, bath exhaust, paint bsmt ceiling black, 6 glass block windows, install gas insert for fireplace, install garage door opener, trim tree, install door wall, re-kick carpet. I was told the job would be done 7 - 10 days. Contract signed on 12/27/2021. He did help pick up and remove a refridgerator not on contract, I paid him for the disposal. On 12/31 they took out a 4'foot wall to start the bathroom project, during that time we added putting in can lights in bsmt ceiling. 1/3 he opened box garage opener, spread out on floor and left it. brought in paint sprayer (frozen) 1/4/2022 he came to replace the door wall, He picked up the door I expected at *********** He had a door on his trailer as I left the house, from a distance it appeared to be the door we discussed. When I returned he had put a different door in its place. it was installed poorly, was a very cheep door.. not the door on trailer, he said that door was warped, I expressed dislike and was told to go find him a door..which I did needed 4-6 wks order time. the original door he purchased was not warped it was the wrong size. no one has my size in stock. He started electrics and can lights. (he charged me extra $ to pay his electritions) presented me with receipt for elec and other supplies, he tried to chg me for other expense's (a tool and wood). At end of day lights were not working correctly. 1/5 I had another electrician evaluate, pointed out (lots of bad/unsafe work) 1/6 I told him I would have my guy do elec work. B&D said return date 1/7, did not come. 1/11 I suggested he paint ceiling-reply; tomorrow, no show, 1/15 claimed covid, 1/19 I sent him detailed text firing him asked for $1100 return of funds. Told him to keep $1400 for his time. he said he would bring chk on 1/21, later that day he said no. Then he said he owed me $$475 to be paid 1/28. never received.
