I was a patron of the gym, and had paid for personal training sessions. When the gym underwent new ownership, they refused to honor the sessions I had paid for and kept over $1,000.00 of money that I had paid. Their only offer for a resolution was use that money I was owed for further paying for my membership, but if I wanted to continue training, they were requiring more money. This happened at multiple locations in multiple states, but the same ******. I will be filing a complaint against the other gyms as well.Initial Complaint

I have joined this gym in 2020 to a 1 year membership agreement. After the 1 year I am able to cancel any time with 30 days notice. I have attempted to contact the facility multiple times and received no response and couldnt leave a message because of a full voicemail. Once I finally got ahold of somebody 2 weeks later they told me that they are unable to cancel accounts for anybody and we just have to stay in our membership indefinitely. I am also being charged $55 a month instead of the $39 I agreed to when I joined, which should be locked in because my membership has never been canceled or interrupted. I would like my account to be canceled and corrected.Business response

Hey ********, I am reaching out to let you know I had spoken with ***** in regard to this incident. He knows his membership is not indefinite. We are going through a transfer of ownership with the gym and I let him know we don't have access to *** (our billing company) just yet. Now, ***** himself works for an Anytime Fitness and he understands how tied our hands are through this process without having access to ***. I let him know as soon as we get access his membership will be cancelled and he will be refunded that money. Please feel free to contact me for any other questions or concerns.
