I had a contract with student painters to stain my deck. They required a $280 Deposit which I sent to them. The manager for them ************************* said he was having trouble getting help. He then showed up to power wash the deck. I told him that I had done this several weeks earlier. He responded that it was included in the contract and they had to do it prior to staining the deck. He then power washed the deck leaving some minor damage to the wood. He later called and indicated he could no longer do the job. I ask that my deposit be refunded and he said fine. Some weeks later I received a check for $200. I called ******* and ask why I had not received a full refund. He was both arrogant and threatening. He stated thats his time was valuable and he was charging for the power washing that I had not needed in the first place. I then contacted student painters headquarters and ask to speak with someone in charge. I was ask to explain the issue and someone would call back after they contacted *******. Despite three calls no one ever called me back. I would like my full deposit returned to me. Thanks.Initial Complaint

We were approached by ************************* to paint our house. I made it very clear that I expected a thorough prep job and offered to prep myself but was told they didnt perform partial paint jobs and was assured they would do a careful prep job. When the crew arrived I spoke with the supervisor about avoiding dripping paint on the stone garden borders and my expectation that any mess be cleaned up. I was assured that they would avoid/clean up any drops and perform a thorough clean up after painting. They got rushed on the last day and it was dark before the crew left. I was assured that they would come back for any needed follow **. ** the daylight it became apparent that they had not finished painting a small portion of the house surface, had left paint chips (which may contain lead) everywhere, there were dozens of drops of paint on the stones and it was clear they had only done a minimal prep job. ***** ******** is a branch manager for Student Painters. His phone no. is ************ and the office phone is ************. I signed a contract with him on 5/22/21 with the exterior front of the house painting "completed" and a check written on 07/22/21. I gave them a $600 deposit prior to work starting and the remaining $2,787 on 7/22/21. Prior to handing the check to him, I said there were some painting areas that needed more paint since you could see the paint wasn't evenly distributed with some darker and lighter areas. He said he would take pictures and come over the next day and take care of it. He didn't show up and I called him on 7/23, 7/26 and 8/2 and each time he put me off and said he would get to it in a couple of days. I called the office on 8/2 and 8/16 to complain and they said they would make some phone calls and get back to me but no one has called me back. I either want them to finish the job or give me a $500 refund so I can hire someone else to finish it.
