On February 24th 2025 I had my regular cleaning and I was billed. I thought something was a little odd because when I always have my cleanings with you guys I'm never billed because my insurance provider covers two per year. So today on March 3rd 2025 I called my insurance company ***** and was advised that I do get two free cleanings a year. I should not have been charged because I was utilizing my cleaning that's covered. I believe my visit was coded incorrectly and I would like a refund for my visit. I also want to ensure that this issue does not occur again for my next visit in 6 months. I would like for someone to contact me regarding this matter.Initial Complaint

I have been dealing with a billing issue with Great Expressions Dental Centers since before summer of last year, and despite multiple attempts to resolve it, I have received no assistance. I have visited the office numerous times, only to be passed off to different staff members or told no one is available to help me. I have also sent emails to the office manager with no response and have waited over an hour in the office, only to be told I need to speak with someone who wont be available for the rest of the week.I have also called customer service multiple times with no answer and previously emailed their support with no response. The companys lack of communication and professionalism has made this a frustrating and unacceptable experience. I am seeking an immediate resolution to my billing issue.Initial Complaint

I go to the dentist routinely every 6 months for cleanings. In September 2024 I went to Great expressions for a 6 month dental cleaning. I was told that I had a cavity that would need a root canal done. I got the root canal done by an endodontrist (not affiliated with Great Expressions). I went back to Great Expressions for the crown which was a 2 step appointment: temporary crown (November 2024) and then the permanent crown (December 2024). When I got the temporary crown placed, the office did not have any temporary cement, so they used permanent cement. The office also ran out of gauze and the machine broke, we had to change rooms/chairs mid procedure. The office bathroom was also without toilet paper, soap and paper towels. Fast forward to getting the permanent crown, the dentist was not able to get all of the cement off (because she used permanent cement on a temporary crown). This was a very difficult, uncomfortable and long process. Once the permanent crown was placed, it did not fit correctly as there was open contact between the teeth. 7 days later, the crown fell out of my mouth. I was out of town so had to go to a dentist out of state and paid out of pocket for another temporary crown. Once I was back in town at Great Expressions, I asked if I could please get a refund as I was not satisfied with the crown as it was done incorrectly and fell out days later. I did ask for the post procedure notes. The post procedure notes showed falsified records as the dentist, Dr. **** *****, documented that she had used temporary cement on the temporary crown. This is not true as she used permanent cement on the temporary crown which was the issue. The office refuses to give me a refund. I went to another dentist to get the entire crown re-done an paid out of pocket $1600.Initial Complaint

I requested Dental X-RAYS from Great Expressions in ********** to be forwarded over a month ago since they dont have a dentist who can see me. It has to go through their corporate office in **. Ive called back a few times to have this expedited as I have problems with my teeth. Turns out I have two cavities possibly three now I called the new dentist today. The new dentist received an email from Great Expressions, giving them the instructions of how to access my digital records from the next email they were suppose to send. They never got the second email with my records. The new dentist emailed great expressions this morning and gave not heard back . I called Great Expressions in *******, ******** and they said the new dentist has to email the sender back to get the records. I asked for the phone number to this corporate office that I have to deal with to get my records that I paid for. I called, I was on hold for 10 minutes and then I had to leave a message. I cant get the dental care I need because they have been dragging their feet. Theyre holding my records and this feels like abuse.Initial Complaint

I came in on 11-26-24 for a standard cleaning. They did some X-rays, and the doctor looked at my teeth and said I was good. Then before the cleaning the receptionist came in with $386 of charges for part of the cleaning, numbing gel, medicated rinse and an irrigation they said I needed. I said no, the doctor said I was clear. They refused to take no as an answer and pressure me with the hygienist pressuring me as well. I agreed to only the irrigation (which was just a medicated rinse) and charged me $35. I paid after the visit and left. Weeks later I received a bill in the mail for the irrigation for $35. Ive tried calling during office hours that says Im not calling during office hours and goes to voicemail. Ive also used the email they provided, but says it might be a week to respond. The bill is due at the end of this month. This place feels like a giant scam. Ive already paid and Im not paying a second time.Initial Complaint

My daughter had her last tray of Invisaline braces in April 2024 and we have been rescheduled 3 times in the summer by the office for lack of Orthodontist and we finally we able to go in early September, they took pics for a new set of trays , we came back to our scheduled visit 2 weeks later and they could not find them, they retook the pics and we came back mid October - THEY LOST them again! We retook pics again . I have been calling every week since Oct 14th and it is now Dec 17th and there is NO tracking for our new trays - HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? This has now been since April 2024 and I feel like they are LYING about not knowing what is going on!Initial Complaint

My issues is I made a dentist appointment for ******* husband. We were advised me needed ********** advised on the call it had been about a year since I had my teeth clean & about less than for my husband. I did advise the dental assistant that I had Xray about a year or so ago & she stated you get x-rays yearly. & that our visit was covered by my insurance. We had nothing but x-rays done & provide information about a cleaning & was provided the breakdown of the fees. A few days later I got a letter from my insurance company about the fee the dentist charged & I called & was told the xray that dentist took was not covered & that we (my ************ had x-rays taking in 2022 & they're good for 5 years. I was also advise by my insurance company that the dentist should have confirmed what was covered prior to service. I feel we should not be responsible for x-rays we didn't need & when I had advise I took x-rays prior. I reached out several times to great expression billing **** @ 1-88-764-5380 & have not been able to get through to anyone. I have emailed & left messages.Initial Complaint

I took my mother to Great Expression located at ***************************************. Note that I am filing this likely under the wrong office because their ************** was not an option. The required that my mother take more x-rays than required for the services they were planned to provide and the request from her PCP. In fact, her insurance company denied part of the insurance claim.I have been trying to months now to get them to send her x-rays to her primary care physician and gotten nothing more than a runaround by the company. I think they are afraid that she is seeking care from another dental provider. They have been unreachable by phone and will not respond to emails.Initial Complaint

Great Expressions is causing my child to endure continue harm and is hindering her from being seen by another orthodontist office. The reason for the state is because my insurance company needed an narrative from the great expressions on when my child was last seen. And they have not sent the document which means my daughter continued car would not be paid for. The orthodontist where we live needs (which is another state now as we moved in May 2024) to know what type of bracket, and treatment plan that My daughter Kimira was having. it has been 6 months and I have expressed to Great Expressions office in ******* that Kimira bands are coming off, her bracket on her teeth is loose, and the wire is causing sores and sticking inside of her cheeks. As a single mother I do not have the luxury to waste money and it would help if the office would take this matter seriously and send the requested documents so my child can get continued care. The new orthodontist office in ******** has requested these documents and the insurance company has requested the narrative on when my child was last seen.I do not like seeing my child in discomfort.
