On Saturday 8/20/22 my husband and I found water spraying out from the main floor sink. We immediately turned off the water main. We spent the next 4 hours emptying the basement of all area rugs, toys, furniture, etc and cleaning up the water with a wet vac. We had to take down all of the finished basement sheetrock and insulation. There was significant damage to my home including but not limited to destroyed hardwood floors, laminate floors, sheet rock, insulation, rugs, furniture, toys, etc. After contacting Wayfair, I was directed to the faucet manufacturer who would ultimately take care of any claim that we had to submit. In the end, the claim was denied by ***********. ******* has also transferred all their responsibility for this incident to the manufacturer and is not willing to provide me with any assistance. I had the faulty faucet hose inspected by a professional who all felt it was defective based on how the hose broke in such a short period of time. Recently,I received a letter dated 11/4/22 from the insurance company for **************** **** and Forster **************************** (Claim# QDC00742850 Policy# BAK-*****-4) In this letter, they claim that they have determined that liability is not reasonably clear. They go on to say that, We have received no evidence to support that there was a defect with the product. From what I can see, and those I had inspect the product, it was defective. However, the letter from **** and Forster does not reference any evidence to prove the item, which was sent to the name provided by **********, ******************* at ****************************************************************** for inspection, was in fact inspected. In addition, they have not explained who may have looked at the item and their qualifications to determine whether it was defective or not. To simply say they have determined that liability is not reasonably clear is ambiguous at best.
