Our dog was not treated for the diagnosis and symptoms he had beginning March 28, 2020. He was a happy healthy normal 4 year old dog (BD 3-20-16).He was still eating/drinking and moving around like normal, just didnt want to play. We took him to his regular vet. 3-30-20 vet visit-Bloodwork and exam were normal. ******************** said any other vet wouldve said everything was normal except she knew him and felt we should go see an emergency vet with an internist on board to take a look. He went in for an exam and came home the same day. No medications March 31, 2020 - Requested X-rays. Found a mass/tumor deep in his lungs coincidentally. April 1, 2020 - Referred to Blue ***** by North Main because there was an internist and radiologist on-site. Blue ***** sent out a urine sample to determine if the tumor was fungal in nature because we had gone to TN in December. It took 8 days for the results. His condition rapidly declined. By Friday April 3rd, he was not eating on his own, little energy and a progressive fever. We were In contact with North Main and Blue ***** CONSTANTLY. Went back in for more bloodwork and X-rays, told us we had to keep waiting for fungal results, that they could do NOTHING. We begged them to treat him for pneumonia for his horrible wheezing and breathing from his rib cage. We did Sub Q! Fluids, ice bags to keep him cool and hand fed him. We took him in walking and looking fairly healthy. We got an appt with the internist April 7 WHICH HE CANCELLED!!!!! Did a phone consultation instead, over $100. I have the recording of his cancellation. We ended up in emergency 4-8 and never saw him again until they walked him out in a box. this was the first time I met the vet. He said not to take him to MI State for an autopsy. I of course did and the cause of death was Necrotizing Pneumonia. The pneumonia he was never treated for and wed asked multiple times. The fungal test was negative. 8 days of wasted time of no tx. $6139 refund
