I went to ******** ******************************* center yesterday 1/26/23 to try neurofeedback therapy for my depression and anxiety. I was told over the phone that they do not offer insurance and that it would cost either $59 or $69 (*********************** couldn't remember which). When I arrived the first thing I saw was a display "Negative Ion" pet collars for sale at the front desk by the company "pet innergy". Negative Ion products are a scam that I've only seen online, they claim to have many health benefits but in reality contain what is typically Thorium powder mixed into the silicone which is a radioactive element which will flake off of the pet collar as it ages or worse as the pet scratches at it or bites it. Thorium has a half life of 14 billion years so it will continue to emit harmful radiation forever and as everyone knows. Ionizing radiation increases the risk for cancer or birth defects. The "treatment" ended up being nothing more than laying on a spinning table while they play music in your ears and flash lights into your eyes (they recommend 20 treatments at $150 each and claim it treats basically every illness or ailment known to man" When I went to the front desk to pay ***************** quietly told the receptionist $100 hoping I wouldn't hear or remember our conversation we had the day prior where he told me $59 or $69. I told the receptionist of the number I was told before and she without hesitation or asking anyone changed the price to $59 which was an immediate red flag that they make up prices on the spot to try and get as much money as they can out of people who don't know any better. The whole interaction there felt like a poorly designed scam and ***************** was very pushy to get people to sign up for treatments or diagnostics which were all very expensive. His "office" was plastered with 12+ certificates announcing he completed 12 HOURS of aftergraduate online video education from the ******************* which has been shown to be run by an illegitimate doctor.
