I signed a contract with Demoss and Sons to install a new roof. I had gutter covers at the time of the signing. During the installation, some of the gutter covers were removed, without my knowledge. Two months later, I discovered large chunks of grassy debris in lower gutters. When I called *** Demoss regarding his employees and the removed gutter covers, he said that roofers don't have employees. Further, he said that the persons, doing the roofing, had my permission to remove the gutter covers. I did not have any conversations with the individuals doing the roofing or agree to the removal of the gutter covers. *** Demoss said that I should hash out the problem with these individuals and not with him. I do not know the name or contact information of these individuals. I want my gutter covered as they were when I signed the conract with ***************************** Home Improvement Co. While doing the roofing work there was a section of gutter guard that was damaged to the point that it wasn't working. We removed the gutter guard and spoke with the homeowner. We showed the damaged gutter guard to the homeowner and let them know they were going to need new ones for that section. The homeowner agreed and we left the damaged pieces in front of their garage. The gutter guard was damaged before we did the roofing work. This is not uncommon. Gutter guards do not usually last as long as the shingles on the roof, especially if there are more than one layer of shingles.Customer response

I have been on an extended trip, from November 22 to December 7. I have been ill for several days after returning home. I have just read the responds to my complaint and it is a lie. There was never any communication with me regarding damaged gutter guards. I was never shown damaged gutter guards nor did I agree to just replace them. If my gutter guard were damaged, the roofer were responsible for that damage. Mr. ******************** told me that the roofers were not his employees and I would have to "hash" it out the people who actually did the work. Yet he is the one who is not responding to the complaint. He was not present during the work, so I assumed the roofers were his employees. These workers were also given the final check.Initial Complaint
