May 16, 2023 about 2pm - Arrived at Midas ******************************************************************* location after explaining a leak in coolant reservoir and deciding to drop off right away. I waited in service lobby and watched manager ******* explain to a woman that she would take the price down form $160.00 to $110.00 but the woman didn't ask her to... she just made a face that seemed unhappy. That is 35%. OFF. ******* confirmed my information already in system. ******* and 1 signed $***** diagnosis agreement. I left right after.May 17- Call from ******* 9am. She explained my coolant reservoir and hose need replacing. Then a list of things that were not involved; tires, the ******** could be replaced. It seemed like asking for allot all at once. She stated everything together would be about $2500.I explained that I was seeking immediate items first. Coolant reservoir though was only ****** and hose ***** at Auto zone. She explained it would be $518.00. I asked her to give a discount and she would not.May 17- 20 minutes later. I called back to get definite price of total. ******* did not give the initial price with ***** diagnostic fee removed as is a rule at Midas. In addition SHE WENT UP IN PRICE ON THE REPAIR TO ******!!! I ASKED WHY??? She just stated that the coolant source had to "be cleaned since they were changing the Coolant reservoir." I asked why did she suddenly state that now and not before? She just said, "that's the way it is." I called back 40 minutes later to get itemized explanation of charges. ******* said, her "hands were tied." and "I have to include OVER HEAD in your costs even though the parts were low cost." She refused to do anything further. I absolutely would like a deduction of at least 25%. I feel that I am not being given great customer ********************** and that it is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL TORECIEVE PRICES ERRATICLY RISING EACH TIME I TRY TO GET FINAL PRICE OF REPAIR. Also, what would make Midas give automatic discounts to some customers and not others???
