0n 2/21/2023 L Automotive was hired to work on my 2007 Jeep Compass. The Jeep was experiencing issues when driving where the engine light and anti-lock brake light would kick on and the car would immediately drop speed to about 5 mph and would not accelerate. The shop called and confirmed that the issues were resolved by a simple oil change, charged $110.06 for the service and advise we could pick up our vehicle. Upon retrieving the vehicle, we found that the initial issue was not resolved as we only made it a block away from the shop before the initial symptoms began again. The shop was contacted and we were advised that they resolved the issue by disengaging the anti-lock brake system fuse. We were then advised that one of the mechanics must have put the fuse back in and to bring it back in and they would disengage it again. The shop was advised that we did not agree with this option as being a fix to the problem. We were then told that in order to fix the issue we would need to replace rear wheel bearings which would cost $542.21. The shop was paid the additional cost and the work was completed on 02/23/2023. It is now July 26th, 2023 and the original issues have reappeared. On 3/3/2023 we brought our 2011 Dodge Caravan to L Automotive for repairs. On 3/8/2023 L Automotive confirmed the work was completed and received payment in the amount of $739.69 to replace Crankshaft Position senor, Camshaft sensor, and fuel pump in my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. Upon picking up our *** we found that it still had the same issues in which we brought it in to the shop for in the first place. We were not even able to leave the parking lot with our vehicle due to it not properly starting. The shop was informed and we were advised that they would look into it. The following day 3/9/2023 I received a voicemail from D*** at L Automotive advising that the fuel pump they replaced failed and that they were working to fix the issue. On 6/24/23 we experienced issues with our van where the check engine and anti-lock brake light appeared on the dash and the vehicle died while in the middle of a busy road. After a few tried we were able to restart the vehicle and pull into the parking lot of a nearby AutoZone where they ran a diagnostic on the vehicle. The diagnostic showed that the Camshaft position sensor failed. We were advised by the auto shop associate that if not fixed immediately it would cause additional damage to other parts of our engine including our timing chain and could result in needing a whole new engine. L Automotive was contacted regarding the issue and it was arranged to have our vehicle dropped off on 7/2/2023. Upon dropping off the vehicle I advised them that the original paperwork they provided us back in March did not have the correct mileage on it. According to their paperwork it stated that the vans mileage at the time of the repairs in march was *******, which was far less than what was actually on the vehicle and would make it appear as though we were past our warranty period. I brought in paperwork from another autoshop that I had my brakes done at 3 weeks prior which showed my mileage being at *******. I requested to have this error updated and the correct mileage listed in their system as well as any provided paperwork. I was advised that they didn't need to update it as their warranty does not go by the mileage, but 1 year despite their paperwork clearing stating that the warranty is good for ****** miles or one year whichever comes first. We were then advised by the shop associate that they would be able to would be able to look at it starting 7/5/2023 due to the 4th of July holiday. On 7/13/2023 I went to the shop to inquire about my vehicle as I had not received any update and they were not answering their phone. I was advised by the first gentleman that I spoke with that nothing had been done with my vehicle as he was not even aware that it was at the shop. He then pulled up a calendar and some paperwork on the desk and yep it's right here, but then stated that whoever I spoke with did not highlight it as being at the shop. He advised that he would get it in first thing the following morning. On 7/17/2023 I called the shop again inquire about my vehicle as once again I had not received any follow up. I was advised that my vehicle was ready for pick up. The shop did not provide any paperwork confirming what work they had actually done. We did not even get 5 min. down the road before the engine light and anti-lock brake light came back on and the car stalled. I immediately called the shop and was advised to bring it back in, which I did. On 7/19/23 I once again contacted the shop for an update as no follow up had been received, and again I was told that my vehicle was fixed and ready to pick up. I again picked up my vehicle, again the shop would not provide any documentation for work they had performed, and again did not even get 5 min. down the road and the engine and anti-lock brake lights kicked on and the car stalled out. I contacted the shop once more and was again told to bring it back up. Hesitantly we brought the van pack up to the shop for a third time. On 7/21/23 I again contacted the shop as no follow was received, and again was told that my vehicle was all set and ready to be picked up. Upon arriving at the shop I was advised that they had taken my vehicle to a local Chrysler Dealership up the road and had them run a diagnostic and update a few things, none of which I authorized. I again requested paperwork for any work that was completed on my vehicle by either shops. I was then told that they were not going to give me paperwork for the work their shop had done and that they could not give me paperwork for what the other shop had done because he took it to a ***** of his that worked there who was just doing him a solid. My vehicle did make it home without issue (please keep in mind that I live less than 10 min. from the shop, so the drive is not by any means far). However, the following day my family and I were nearly in an accident due to the issues with our vehicle not actually being resolved. We were turning onto a main busy road when our engine and anti-lock brake light came on and our car stalled which also caused us to lose power steering. We were just turning the corner when the car stalled and without power steering we were barely able to make the turn and almost collided with another vehicle. Due to us being right near AutoZone again we were once again able to get into their parking lot and have a diagnostic test ran once more. On 7/22/2023 at 2:45pm the diagnostic report advised that it was the Crankshaft Position Sensor which had failed. The same part that was supposedly replaced by the shop back in March, and the same part that they claimed to have fixed on 3 occasions. Due to L Automotives negligence in falsely claiming to have "fixed" this issue on multiple occasions, failing to provide documentation of work performed, having unauthorized persons perform work on my vehicle, leaving my family without a vehicle for the entire month, as well as just the fear for my familys safety due to L Automotives negligence I have now had to take my vehicle to another shop to have the work completed. This means additional time without a vehicle, additional out of pocket cost to fix the original issue as well as any additional issues caused by it not being properly fixed on multiple occasions. Due to the safety issues, possible additional damage caused, and complete inconvenience this has caused as well as any additional out of pocket expense which may be incurred I feel as though L Automotive should be held responsible to cover the additional cost that is to be incurred to properly fix both my Compass and Caravan, any out of pocket expense for additional damage caused by original issues, a full refund for cost originally paid to L Automotive, as well as additional compensation for punitive damages caused by these ongoing issues.
