PPM Landscape Contractors Response
05/23/2023
In response to the complaint listed. We are the contracted snow removal service for the *** that the homeowner is a resident of. We have never received a complaint from this person until 2-3 weeks ago.
Complaint #1- damage to residents lawn on the boulevard from the plow truck. There is a small strip of grass approximately 4 inches wide and 20 ft long that we have recognized and have offered to repair. I have recommended to the resident that in order to avoid this in the future to please install orange snow markers to help aid the drivers of his property boundaries as snow stake install is not included in the contract. He said he would do that in the future. We were first notified of this issue approximately 2-3 weeks prior to May 23rd. We look forward to completing the minor *********** the homeowner approves the recommended repair plan.
Complaint #2- damage to homeowners concrete driveway approach. Homeowner had a new concrete approach installed last fall along with many other residents in the subdivision. He is reporting pitting at the concrete surface. We are contracted to salt all intersections in the subdivision. He lives adjacent to an intersection that we salt. We do not salt his driveway. He has salt transfer from the tires of his car on to his approach. We do not believe that the salt transfer is responsible for the pitting of his driveway. We are not liable for salt transfer. We have asked him to check with his cement contractor because he may have had a bad pour. If his cement was not certified then he likely has other issues with his concrete. Concrete should not pit with minimal salt exposure. Again, we do not salt his driveway.
Homeowner stated on the phone that he saw one of our salt trucks pass his house and the salt flew up his driveway, hit his car, his kids, trees, and house. He also claimed that he had video. When asked for the video he said "No" and became agitated. We strongly disagree with his claim. Homeowner is demanding we pay $3,000 to replace his concrete and lawn. We are a reasonable company and will stand behind our work. We will not become a victim to extortion as he has threatened to drag our company through the mud if we do not pay up. If we cannot agree on the outcome then the next logical step is court. This why we have a judicial system.
We have asked homeowner to refrain from texting personal cell phones at 11 P.M. during the week and on weekends. He has not respected that request.
