I signed a contract with KLH Contracting July, 2022. The contract provided the labor and materials for kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and flooring in my kitchen, living room, dining room, and hallway. The total contract price was $29,000. I put $10,000 down per the contract requirements. *** from KLH provided me with a list of vendors he preferred that I ordered the materials from such as the cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and floors. I went to each of the vendors and picked out the materials that I wanted. After the cabinets were ordered it was discovered that cabinets were not correct, but I was told the order could not be stopped. We also discovered other discrepancies with the backsplash and floorings. I emailed **** from ************** regarding the cabinets to schedule a meeting to see what we could do to get the correct cabinets ordered, and she offered to meet on 9/3 to discuss. I asked *** if he was available on 9/3 to meet with us, and he responded that he was not available on Saturdays or Sundays. I asked him when he would be available and he did not respond. I emailed him again on 9/6 in an attempt to schedule a meeting to resolve our discrepancies but I still have not received a response. I have also sent pictures of the cabinet discrepancies to **** and asked her to please order the correct cabinets, but I have not received a response from her. At this point, I would like a refund as I feel *** and I are not able to work together to resolve the issues.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 17932450, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:
After a meeting with KLH, we thought the complaint was resolved and she decided to move forward with the project. The meeting included a compromise on the financial discrepancies and the promise of a project manager. My mom welcomed the idea of a project manager because she and *** seem to have trouble communicating. Unfortunately, the project manager *****, never actually worked with her and now we are told ***** is no longer available. Yesterday, *** and my mom had a phone conversation regarding all of the discrepancies and the call ended with *** hanging up on her. This type of treatment is intimidating and intolerable. I have full intentions of reaching out to *** myself, but there are so many discrepancies, I am unsure we will be able to resolve them without a mediator or guidance from an impartial party.

Thank you for your assistance. ***** ********* entered a written contract which provides a specified scope of work. The customer is demanding our company install improvements that are not included in the contract. We are willing to perform the additional work pursuant to a change order. We did not hang up on the customer.

*** did hang up on my mom, which shows his lack of professionalism and willingness to work through this. It is concerning that he may not be honest about what has happened. She is not asking for work to be done outside of the contract. We do not find the contract as straightforward as *** seems to, we have asked for a breakdown, but he refuses to provide it.
