Behler Young sold a ****** furnace to an unlicensed contractor in violation of ******** law and the contract with ******. I requested information on the purchaser as I was invoiced by ********* Paradise Effects and ****** and/or *************************, who show no HVAC license in ********. I verified with ****** that the furnace was purchased from them by Behler Young. Behler Young refused to provide information regarding who the ******** licensed company and ****** certified dealer was who purchased the furnace so I can verify whether or not the unit was illegally sold or stolen. The unit was not even the correct size for my home. I want someone to take this incorrect unit back and refund my money. I feel that as Behler Young will not provide the information for the purchaser, they are assuming responsibility for the unit. They knowingly (until proven otherwise) allowed a non-licensed person to purchase an item that they are not allowed to purchase. Also, when I originally called BY, the outside salesman, *****, said he didn't recognize the name or description of the man who attempted to install the furnace. When I went in to BY, on the dock, ***** told me that the guy is licensed under his brother at MidState Mechanical which was a totally fictional story. I went inside and asked for assistance in finding who (licensed contractor) to hold responsible, I was treated very rudely and told, ironically, that they only sell to licensed contractors and that I need to leave. I advised that I am just trying to get information and was again told to leave repeatedly and rudely by the branch manager. Since they won't provide the information on who purchased the unit, I will assume they do sell to unlicensed contractors and will be filing a complaint with the state on November 3, 2023, if this is not being resolved.

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns in this matter.  Unfortunately, you hired ****************** to do a job, not The Behler-Young Company.  I have personally conducted a search of ******** Mechanical Licenses and found ********************** Michigan Mechanical License is valid and does not expire until 2025.  This information can be found at www.michigan.gov.  I can assure you that the Behler Young Company is a wholesale distributor and only sells to licensed Mechanical Contractors, we do not sell retail or directly to a homeowner.  The Behler Young Company, in fact, did sell the equipment in question, but within our guidelines, standards, and as a normal practice to a Licensed Mechanical Contractor only.  Once the equipment leaves our possession, it is now property of that contractor.  After that, it is the homeowners responsibility to hire the contractor if they wish.  If the homeowner is unhappy with an installation performed by someone they hired, it is in no way the fault of The Behler Young Company, as we are distribution and only sell to Licensed Mechanical Contractors, not the homeowner.  Once again, thank you for reaching out, but The Behler Young Company is not fault for this situation, we sold ****** equipment to a licensed Mechanical contractor within our guidelines.
