I've been trying to cancel for months and they have seeped hundreds of dollars from me for a gym membership I don't use. First my membership was frozen due to COVID, then they aren't my home gym, then they transfer my call to a different gym, then they tell me the cancellation party is through a different billing partner, then I reach them, then they tell me its $50 to cancel even though I live more than 200 miles away from my old gym and have for several months, then they say I need proof of a ****, I get proof and call them back and they don't answer. I am incredibly mad and will NEVER use Anytime Fitness again. They have yet to call me back and are never in the office taking calls.******

Our gym is not the original gym in which this customer joined. When he transferred to our location based upon usage, we had to honor the terms of the contract that he signed with his original gym. We had contacted this customer in August due to a billing issue. At that time he requested to cancel his agreement as he no longer lives by our gym. Since he was still within his term of the agreement signed at his original gym, he was instructed to contact the billing company. Per notes from the billing company, they provided him cancellation procedures which include proof of new address on 8/24/21, but they never received any documentation from him. He did not contact our gym again until 2/23/22, in which case he called three times within 5 minutes. Our training staff was busy with clients at the time of his calls and the owner was out of the office for a few hours attending a sons school activity. The owner contacted him in the afternoon as soon as he returned back to the office and processed a cancellation, as the term of his agreement had been recently fulfilled. Our office is staffed 6 days a week for a minimum of 41 hours. Our phones are answered whenever staff is available and messages are returned as soon as possible if any calls are missed.
