A storm damaged our home, we hired Experienced Builders to fix the roof and evaluate structural damage. The new roof leaked bad the first rain we had. They put new shingles over rotted wood that should have been replaced. They were supposed to evaluate for structural damage, they did not. When I brought it to their attention they took short cuts that failed the next spring. They set dates to fix their bad work, and never showed up, didn't call or anything. I just want them to fix what they promised and to have a roof that is finished and doesn't leak. Its been almost 1 year since they replaced the roof.

The leak that was referenced was due to original improper flashing where the fascia met the roofline and was caulked as it was prior until the repairs could be approved by insurance. The repairs were never for structural inspection in the prescribed work order from the insurance. The insurance has confirmed that they will not pay for exploratory repairs. We opened and replaced 1 sheet of decking that has a slight structural hump as the property has settled over time.  It is the homeowners belief that it wasn't there before the storm but provided no evidence to submit to insurance. I have photos from repairs we attempted to please the customer only to be met by his brother instructing me and my crew to leave or law enforcement would be called before we could finish the repairs. Photos are time stamped on my phone as well as the carriers response for denial of additional repairs. The chimney flashing was also not covered to be replaced which was also in the list of complaints. The pieces of wood allowed for replacement were replaced and we have photos. The roof has since been approved again for hail damage which voids our warranty but the owner has stated he would like to keep the old roof and sell his house as is. As was done with the majority of the original claim for the siding and interior work because the homeowner believes the repairs will not increase the value of the home when sold as much as keeping the proceeds. The initial payment was not made for almost 11 months and the remainder was paid only after receiving an intent to lean. Which is also probably the real reason for the retaliatory complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:

The fact is, after having a new roof put on it leaked, in 2 places, a new roof should not leak.  Experienced Builders is blaming everyone but his workmanship. Experienced Builders did not install a roof up to code sighting its wasn't up to code when he started, considering the house was built in **** it is no surprise it was not up to code, but it is however Experienced Builders obligation to bring new work to code.  He had agreed to make all the repairs, then failed to follow thru. Experienced Builders is so irresponsible he even lost the check paying him, a good Samaritan walking down the street found the check and returned it to me, in a good faith effort I contacted Experienced Builders and issued him a new check. The contractor made several appointments then would not show up, no call, no text.  Contractor was told that the home owner wants to be present when more work is done, because the last time they broke lawn furniture due to their negligence. I believe this contractor should not have a good BBB rating. I feel I have no options left but to hire a lawyer and file a law suite against  Experienced Builders.
