I hired Daves floor sanding to refinish my floors. I had one room which had a wall removed and damaged boards removed and replaced with boards that didnt match the same direction.I asked Daves what they could do to make them match the existing floor and they told me they have a stripping machine that would match the floor to the original floor and then the would finish them for ****** a board. When they were finished the had just replaced the boards and left them not matching the rest of the floor. This was done on my cabin and so I didnt see the floor before they asked for remaining 1/2 of payment. I objected to payment until I see it but was told they require payment and they would fix anything that wasnt right. They never used the stripping machine and when I asked about it ****** said lets not play he said she said game I said you were the person who told me about this machine. I still dont know what that machine is. He told me I need to take some responsibility for his employees not using it because saw them there 2 hours after they started and should have brought it up then. When I talked to ****** he brought up that he didnt write they stripping machine it on the bid. So I had no recourse and they fulfilled their obligations to the contract. When I asked to talk to the owner about this issue from the get go I was told I am the person **** has hired to handle these situations i was never able to talk to another person at Daves flooring even after repeated attempts. Daves would do themselves a favor and get rid of ****** because a man who doesnt stick to his word will take down your business! After looking at the comments in reviews you will see a common thread being ******!

Daves Floor Sanding and Installing provided a quote and invoiced the customer to Sand and Finish with 3 coats of oil base polyurethane: Hall, entry, dining, 2 bedrooms, closets, and patio room and Cut in a transition in middle of room and under window patch $300 each

We performed the work exactly as described in this invoice and installed flooring in areas that were missing hardwood. It appears there was a miscommunication about one of the areas where wood boards were patched in. We replaced the boards as needed, and as stated in our proposal and invoice. More than a week after the project was completed we were made aware that the customer had a different expectation, we offered to redo the work as requested, with a fee to cover our additional time and materials. The customer declined. The work we performed meets industry standards, and apologize there was a miscommunication, but dont think its fair to expect ** to do additional work not included in the invoice, after the fact, for free.

I am rejecting this response because:

****** said it would cost me at least ***** more dollars to finish a job witch ****** me ***** already. It was in the proposal that they would use a track saw to fix the boards and make them match existing boards. When I saw the proposal I agreed to everything except the stain. I sent a picture of the floor to the company email when I saw  the floor. This my cabin and Im not there every day.
I just want them to do what we agreed upon without changing the proposal and saying we agreed to the change. Very sneaky practice! Just do what you said and we talked about ******!

We had hired Daves twice in he past and had a great experience however this time with ****** in charge at he offie it was TERRIBLE! Talk about RUDE! The installers tore out carpet & installed the new floors. When they left on Friday they said they would be back Saturday to stain. So we changed our schedule to ensure we were home. They didn't show up & no one in the office knew why. When they showed up Monday & asked how the weekend was we expressed our frustration with them not showing up along with some concerns about marks on the walls and trim and a bunch of wood filler that had dried on ************* heart of our fireplace. Instead of apologizing (you know that thing called customer service) they walked out on the job. We called the office and spoke with ****** who was a complete Jerk! HE told us they don't work with "people like us" plus a lot of other incredibly rude things. Its unfortunate that "people like us" who expect good quality work from professional are by a Business like this. ****** proceeded to tell us we trashed our **************************** needed to be completely redone. (****** never actually saw the floors). They ended up sending out another crew that told us NOTHING was wrong with our floors and they did a great job completing them. They attempted to clean off ************* but unfortunately it left a huge discolored spot in the middle of the stone that is not fixable. The stone itself is over $1,000 and installed under the fireplace surround which would all need to be taken apart to replace it. When we called to express our concerns & asked how this would be addressed ****** again was RUDE and said they didn't care if we wrote bad reviews about them. He said they would just Lien our house which they did. So now we are in a situation where they ruined things in our home that will be expensive to fix and we have a lien on our home. People like ****** should not be running business. I read a bunch of ************ looks like ****** has quite the reputation.

We do apologize for any scheduling misunderstandings, but the reason the crew left your project was due to your unreasonable attitudes, cussing, and yelling. In a world where the customer is always right, we draw the line when we are being downright mistreated. Swearing and yelling at our employees and manager is a good way to get a rude response from management. We have continued to reach out to get someone out to discuss the concerns and address them but the customers have been unwilling to follow our protocols and allow a representative in the home to go over their concerns. At this time we filed a lien as they still owe for the project that we completed and we expect to get paid, the customer does not agree to pay. Due to the high level of disregard for respect for our employees and staff we do not wish to return as the customer just wants to yell, swear, and argue with no listening for options on a resolution. We are closing the project on our end and do not intend to go back to their home for the argument, all other communications will go through our lawyer.

I am rejecting this response because:

Unfortunately the claims are untrue. No one in our home yelled or cursed at anyone, we simply expressed our frustrations in a very professional manner. We did not even receive any sort of apology from management or the crew when they no showed us & issues were addressed. Instead they became very angry with us and started and began to verbally assault us. We called Daves to address the problem and they refused to even hear us out. My husband & I were both immediately talked down to by ******.  As noted in my first message, ***********;told us we ruined our floors in the middle of the project but when they new crew came out they told us there was nothing wrong with our floors and did not ruin them. ************************) never even came to our home to access the issues himself he just made assumptions based on what the crew said when they were upset that we called them out in some issues and no showing us.  We are successful business owners ourself and would NEVER treat anyone in that manner. The issues remain that there was damage to out home during the project. The response here from Daves (****** in particular) is the exact response we received when we tried working directly with them which is why we escalated it to the BBB. It is unfortunate they are not willing to address the issues.
