The company is listed as Plymouth Towing ****************************************** apparently purchased by or changed their name to Twin Cities Transport and Recovery. My daughter was in an accident and the *************** called this company to tow my daughters car. She was not able to get her belongings from the car including her apartment keys and the tow truck driver told her she could get her belonging at the tow company. She called to verify what she needed. She had to get an Uber to go to the Plymouth Towing and they would not let her get her belongs or even her keys. Her registration was not in the car and they would not accept the online verification despite her having proper identification. She was sent back by **** to her house and was told she needed her paper registration. I called to inquire and was treated rudely by the receptionist. When I said that they werent helpful to my daughter I was told, dont waste that on me. My daughter had to have her apartment make her a key. My daughter returned with her registration and now they refused to allow her access saying they need her to sign her car to insurance or pay the bill. I contacted the insurance company and they had no idea what sign off to the insurance company meant. I called again and talked to the same receptionist. She did not know my daughter was listening and she said she was going to make my day miserable. I talked to the supervisor **** who would not give me her last name. She would not provide me with an explanation what sign off or what the fees were. She was equally as rude. (See ****** reviews, this is a pattern). She said she was helping my daughter, all she wanted was money for the tow. So my daughter left that night and had to come back again. The person the next day did not require her to sign off. She got her belongings without signing anything. These people were rude, liars and just mean. They should not be used by the police since they scam people in accidents.

We apologize if any of our staff were not as helpful as they should have been. We strive to help all customers through the impound release process following a vehicle crash. TCTR follows MN Statutes 168B for all vehicles impounded. Vehicle owners are given the right to decide when a vehicle leaves impound lots to protect their contents inside the vehicle. Once a vehicle is moved to an auction holding site for insurance companies it is cleaned out and prepared for auction.

We appreciate you reaching out on this situation as we use feedback to change our training materials. This call will be used to show how important it is to have TCTR drivers educate vehicle owner's at the scene of the crash (when possible) on what the release requirements will be.

This towing company made me go through more hurdles then reasonablely needed. I showed my snap card and was turned away. I asked to see the bill since I don't know where the charges came from, they refused. This company is a huge scam and you will hear from my lawyer very soon!

On Mar 4, I went to get my car that was towed from outside my home and asked if an older registration & current insurance would be sufficient and the employee at the front desk said no. I explained the registration I have (********) expired 11/22, the car was towed was for that same reason & that I am unable to get a current registration due to ******** law without an inspection which was impossible while the car is here. He was unsure at that point and called an associate who said that I CAN bring the expired registration I currently have, but would have to get the car towed out. They said that they do offer towing or can get another company. I then asked my father who still lives in ******** and luckily is on the Title with to get a duplicate registration. On March 14, I came back with the documents I was told to bring along with cash of $1634 ready to get my car. Employee at front desk and the manager said that I couldnt & need a current registration or title (takes 2 weeks). I explained calmly that I was told otherwise and the difficult situation I was in, not to mention additional $50 daily charges. first claimed there was no record of me being there or any notes which quickly changed when I said I have a witness ************************ can ask the 2 employees. They then said I was told to bring what they said (FALSE). Front desk employee was extremely rude & unprofessional; to my disbelief, the manager was even worse. I which forced me contact another higher up. Despite all efforts, was unhelpful, deceptive and unfair making situation extremely complicated/stressful for me&my family and is refusing to deduct charges due to mistake and negligence of their employees& demanding $2460. I am forced to file this complaint requesting to rightfully deduct the charges so I can get my vehicle.

My truck was towed by Twin cities towing on September 30, 2022. At that time, I was unable to remove my personal belongings from my truck. When I used My GPS tracking, it led me to the tow company . The tow truck driver took my phone. He was fired by the Company. I feel the Company is responsible for their employees actions and should reimburse me for my phone. Current cost to replace is $2,000z

TCTR did help the individual who had a stolen phone by providing all relevant documentation regarding the stolen phone to the police. TCTR does not accept responsibility for someone who commits a crime though.

On Saturday, 8/20/22, just before evening I purchased a **** Jeep Liberty plate #NDJ 105, from my sons girlfriend. As we were driving it home the tire blew on Highway I-94w. We were able to slowly limp the vehicle to the emergency pull off. During the process of trying to remove the bad tire the lug nut stripped and became very pliable. We tried everything to remove the bad lug nut but to no avail. I did not have money for a tow. Come 11:00pm that night, tired and physically exhausted, all auto part stores are closed so I can't buy anything else to help the process and we had to decide to leave the car and a note in the window stating the date and time and that we will return the next day to get it. It was well off the highway, completely visible and not missing any vital running components. Went back Sunday at 2:00pm after work and it had been towed. The state patrol couldn't even tell me where it was until 7pm Sunday because it hadnt even been put into the tow yard system until hours later, the officer said, that's when I was informed the cost was $306+ for towing 5 miles. I went to ********************* Twin Cities Tow yard today, Monday 8/22/22 and provided all my information to retrieve my belongings based on MN Statute for 'Relief Based on Need' - MN Statute 168B.07 RIGHT TO RECLAIM Medical, cash assist, DwP, Snap and my MN License and the title which we had to get from the jeep.He told me that he would not release my belongings based on need because I'm not the registered owner. I told him I bought it Saturday, the same day it was towed. My info was written on the title, which he saw. License centers were not open at the time I bought it so of course it would not be in my name yet. I asked if we could pay a portion if the bill to get my things and he said "NO". I have RX glasses and legal paperwork amongst other things in it.There has to be something done due to the day, time and circumstances. I just want my stuff. This is time sensitive. 2 days in yard now

TCTR towed the vehicle by order of the ******** Patrol (Case # W22509364). TCTR follows ** Statutes regarding the notice and release of impounded vehicles and contents - 168B.051, 168B.07, and 168B.08.

I am rejecting this response because: If they claim to be abiding to the previously mentioned statutes then there would have been no issue in the first place.  My signature was on the title and I provided several different proofs of my aides and supplements I get like snap and medical. I was told by the larger guy behind the counter at the tow yard that because my name was not printed on the title it's not considered a legal ownership   (I cleaned up the language used). I told him he was incorrect and also provided to him my based on need papers.  He said I had to be the registered owner (by the **** at the time of the tow. I told him I bought it the day before it was towed and it broke down on the same day I bought it, bought Saturday. He told me to come back with cash  or I won't be allowed access. I just wanted my belongings back first, I didn't know how long or if at all I'd be able to pay the fees. I should have legally been able to gather my belongings that day I went with all my paperwork. Now they have scared the original owner I bought it from, into being forced to pay the fee or dont come pay and prepare themselves for court.  She scraped up the money to pay the fee, gathered my belongings and turned the jeep over to tow yard for scrap. I should have been allowed to get my things myself the very first day I went with my paperwork. The original owner should not have been put through the drams and stress the tow caused. If I would of had my things she would not have paid the fee. I know what the laws are,  that tow yard and the big front counter guy did not abide by the statutes of reclaiming based on need AT ALL.  I feel they owe an apology and partial refund of fee paid for lost time and wages all stemming from the tow personnel NOT following the statutes from day 1.
