Worst customer service and worst claim processing. Find a better plan even if more expensive. GEHA is not worth it.

They are the cheapest *************************** plan for a reason. They deny claims for very flimsy reasons. Four of my claims over a 2 year period were denied. The claims were submitted multiple times according to their instructions but they say they never received any of them. When they finally acknowledged their receipt, they denied the claims for "failing to file in a timely manner". They are ***** ******. They have cost me more than the higher priced plans due to the cost of denied claims. Stay away from GEHA!

Prisma Health is no longer participating in the ************ care starting 1-1-24,I got the letter on 1-29-24 from GEHA ,telling me i need to find another provider in the network I,am schedule to have surgery in march with prisma health , they did not notify me doing open season i would have change insurance, they only want to make money off the customer.

With GEHA you can have babies for free, but they wanted to charge my wife and I $56 a month to attend a health benefits program! Unfair and biased coverage. Why doesn't geha have "silver sneakers" for their members?

As a Fed Ive been with GEHA for over a decade. I retired in 2016 and continued with them. Never had any serious issues until a couple of years ago and began having more disputes. In 2022 I visited the ** for kidney stones. This was a hospital that they purportedly partnered with. The claim for my visit was submitted and now 2 years later the claim is still pending according to GEHA. Im stuck holding the bag for $27,000 with debt collection hounding me. Never received any written resolution after months of phone calls and emails. Im contacting an attorney and dropping GEHA like nuclear waste.

We have been with GEHA for 2 years in ********. I haven't seen a more inept or error-prone insurance company. Every claim was messed up and took inordinate amounts of time and efforts to correct. Their coverage of services and medical supplies seems iffy as well relative to what the policy states it should cover. Thankfully, we didn't have any serious illnesses during this time - I can't imagine the nightmare that would have resulted in. We are switching to another provider. Don't use GEHA it's not worth it.

They will not cover what they say they will cover in your plan. They will give you the run around for months and then deny benefits that your plan states is covered.

GEHA's HealthEquity stuff is a complete mess and is way ****** complicated. Don't waste your time signing up. Even though they will give the subscriber health rewards, GEHA makes it very difficult to use the rewards to pay for medical bills.

Stole my money, never covered anything according to benefit plan. Said their dentist said I didnt need crowns on broken teeth lol this is a complete scam I paid $11k in work they covered less than $150 despite my plan supposedly covering it but they decided their dentist disagree with my own and my primary ins dentist lol. This is a SCAM

New to GEHA. Unfortunately my former insurance (EMBLEM HEALTH) was changed to GEHA after my retirement from federal service. In fact, I was told that all federal retirees were converted over to GEHA. I didn't mind at first because it was cheaper. I used it once in 2023. The info on their provider list indicated that the doctor was a family/gastroenterology. When I went for the appointment, I learned that the doctor only treated gastroenterology. I was looking for a family medicine doctor that also included a gastroenterology specialty. Fast forward, I am currently looking for an internal medicine doctor. Here's the problem, the provider list ion GEHAs website is inaccurate. Every number I called was for something other than internal medicine. For example, I apparently called a number that was for psychiatric care. So, I called customer service for **********************. I told the rep my problem with obtaining the correct number. He sent me an email if supposedly internal medicine providers. I called one of the numbers and it turns out it was for something other than what I wanted. It was nor internal medicine. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the customer rep informed me to ask the medical provider if they accept GEHA. That leads me to believe that the provider list that GEHA provides may be outdated. Which may explain the confusion with obtaining the correct provider when calling the numbers listed on their website. Ugh! I may be looking to switch health insurance carriers at next open season. Cheaper definitely does not mean better. You get what you pay for. The reviews that I have read seem to indicate this.
