This debt collection agency is wrongfully trying to get money from me. What led to this was that that in 2018 I moved into the ******* apartments. I moved out 3-4 months later and did a lease break where ***** The apartment manager said he would work with me if I gave him a one month notice and paid one month extra rent. And rent deposit.So I did this and everything was good.I had a co signer by the name of *********************** who helped me with deposit and credit reference since I had bad credit at the time. The reason I moved out early was because she needed help around the house as she is sick and elderly. And I also had to schedule bunion surgery.Anyways. About 3 weeks after I moved out. **** tried to charge her $900 for furniture and cleaning fees. Which was very heinous. Luckily I took pictures of the apartment I cleaned up and showed them to *****. And the furniture was not mine. But ******* apartments. So she called management above **** and they waived the $900 fee since she provided proof of the apartment cleaning. So in the last year I been working on my credit score and lol and behold I have this 1 star rated poor collection agency trying to charge me $242 for removal of furniture and cleaning fees. I took care of this almost 4 years ago with *********************** and the ******* management.And yet **** has put out a collection for a cleaning fee and furniture removal I owe no money for. And the furniture was not even mine to begin with. But property of ******* apartments in ***** ************. This has impacted my credit score and I refuse to pay $242 for a **** I do not owe. This is nothing more than an act to pocket some free cash from both ***** The manager at ******* apartments. This agency nor ******* ever gave or sent me any mail, phone call or notices. Prior to involving the collection agency. And this was supposedly resolved 4 years ago after I paid a month extra rent prior to moving out. And breaking my lease the most respectful way I could.Business response

Hegenes Property Management has reviewed your file from 2018. The charges listed on your file were reviewed by the Community Manager and Regional Manager at that time. There is a list of items that needed to be cleaned and replacement charges that total $100. Keys were not returned so that charge was $30. The *** was $370, the 1 month extra you had to pay as mentioned in your complaint. There is also a charge to pay back your move in special since the initial 1 year lease was not fulfilled. The total charges are $870, there was a credit on your account in the amount of $343 and your deposit of $285. Charges $870 Credits $628 = Balance Due $242.
