They refinished my deck last spring, did a mediocre job, and then this spring started to chip and peel. I have sent them pictures twice, which they asked for. I have called every couple weeks. They promise to get back to me, but nothing happens. I want them to come back and redo it properly.Business response

The original complaint was processed in our system October 9, 2023. Since then, we have reviewed the photos and determined the age of the deck is over 20 years old and the cedar wood appears to be nearing the end of its useful life. Factors that *** contribute to chipping include weather conditions such as drought, wear and tear on the deck and/or shoveling snow with a metal shovel. In addition, the stain was purchased by the owner from Menards, which we do not warranty.
We regret that the customer is going through this. A cost-effective solution *** be for the customer to apply a second coat of stain on the deck. But our recommendation is to replace the deck with a maintenance-free product such as MoistureShield Composite Decking.
